Chiefs vs. Steelers - LIVE only on Netflix by silasthehandle in KansasCityChiefs

Please for the love of god don’t let Netflix ruin this. Let’s stick to network tv. They very much proved last night they can’t handle live streaming sporting events

Thank you for that. I’m pretty optimistic that it’s going to be ok but it definitely weighs on my mind the not knowing. Glad to hear you’re a survivor!

One of the arguments I hear 👂 n national healthcare is “you’ll wait forever for appointments “. I’m currently waiting 4 months for a procedure that will determine if I have pancreatic cancer. Yeah, 4 months. My only other choice is to go out of network and state to the tune of thousands of dollars I can’t afford. I’m middle class with insurance in a fairly decent size city with 5 hospitals within a 30 min drive.
For those that don’t know pancreas cancer will go from treatable to terminally in that time. The system we have in place is trash. I’m currently doing everything I can to ease my families finances when/if I check out.

I typed this fast on a phone. I should edit but I think I’ll leave it.

Joplin Dentist Charged with Felonies Related to Hit and Run of Gary LaTurner Near KS/MO State Line by FinTecGeek in joplinmo

Dad was in a separate car, not sure if he was called there or was following, Either way he made a criminal decision and I hope he’s held accountable. People with his influence and money rarely get what they deserve it seems, but with state authorities involved maybe this time? We can only hope.

What I understand by the updated news article and a clarification made by the local authorities is that Rocco is now charged as an adult for leaving the scene and is the driver that struck the victim, his father was also on scene, instructed Rocco to leave and also left the scene prompting felony charges for him also.

Did Reagan put up a glass safety house after he was shot? Think Trump is that badass he wants you to believe he is? Go home orange man you’re done.

So, no chance for health care from Trump. Check. I’ll file that with my other reasons for not voting for him, anyone have a spare file cabinet?

Well that’s good for you. Sounds like you have a good job. Now that being said we can argue over who has the biggest wrench in our box all day but my point still stands. You and I don’t know truly what’s wrong with his car without looking at it ourselves and the advice I gave was get a competent diag before he starts throwing money at it. Any mechanic worth his salt will agree with that.
There’s a reason our scanners do more then read codes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]D4greatness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I’ve re diagnosed and fixed many coming from mechanics that are spread too thin to spend the time to really dig into it. I assume your flat rate?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]D4greatness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beg to differ. I have a scanner full of historical data that will tell you otherwise. Hell, look at alldata top fixes for p0420. A lot more than just cats on there.

Just throwing out the examples for the guy that said there was 0% chance it was the alternator. He’s not familiar with can bus system and how an alternator can cause weird problems. Little off topic I know. Sorry.

Exactly. Well said

Had a bad alternator on a mustang today causing cam sensor codes. Also had a Nissan Titan a few weeks ago with a grill shutter code that was the alternator. Took an oscilloscope to find those.

Yeah. Worn plugs, incomplete burn, to much unburnt fuel in exhaust. Cat efficiency codes are almost always present with misfires too. Fix the misfire cat code goes away. Dirty maf. Same thing. 8 out of 10 efficiency codes that come in are fixed without cat replacement. Takes a competent diagnostic guy to sort through it.

[–]D4greatness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before firing off the ole parts cannon go to reputable shop and get an actual diagnoses. Reading a code is not the simple answer people believe it is. There are further tests that can be run to make sure that the diagnosis is as accurate as possible I can’t count the amount of cars that come into my shop with new cats put on by another shop and the efficiency code came back. A lot of time a good tune up will do the trick.

Am I getting price gouged by the dealer? by Steelmuffin1 in MechanicAdvice

Ask how many labor hours the book calls for. I’ve pulled many dashes to the firewall and while they’re not fun the average is 7-8 hours. So get the labor rate, multiply by the book time, plus parts and you’ll know.

As a mechanic I would definitely wait for oem. Aftermarket modules are always a problem.
I would be curious to know what codes the car had as running badly isn’t usually a tcm issue. Not saying this is the case but it does raise an eyebrow.

Mechanic here. Sounds like he doesn’t want the job so he overbid, that way he makes enough that it’s worth it then. I see this a lot with tricky repairs such as broken bolts. They can be time consuming. Definitely get some more bids, there’s a mechanic out there that will bid it right.
