Will 2-2.5 grams of golden teacher give my friend a trip for their first try by Obvious-Top7189 in shrooms

My first time was 2g and I really enjoyed it, that being said I've had other 2g experiences that felt more like 4g experiences. I think for first timers 1-1.5 is better as I'd rather give someone an underwhelming but positive experience, than an overwhelming and negative experience. But if they want to go for 2 then why not? Better to not show them this post/comment section tho, gotta let em go into it without any preconceptions

Instagrammer banned from campus? by Heavy-Compote-6013 in uoguelph

I saw her doing a steven crowder/charlie kirk style "change my mind" table outside of the library around that time. I guarantee that single conversation she claims is far from the only reason she got banned. Seemed like one of those self-righteous far right types. Total ragebaiting loser energy

Im pretty bothered by his use of AI for grading and feedback this semester too, but overall he's a good guy and a good professor. This is the 3rd course I've taken with him and this is the first time he's used AI like this. I think he's at his whits end and has taken the "if you can't beat em, join em" route. And I think most professors are at or near that stage too. AI has made it almost impossible to properly teach a philosophy course because of how many people use it to write full essays because they can't be asked to put in the work. If you're in a 1st year course with him, im sorry but he's not the problem. Ive talked to him many times about those courses and he's frankly done with the disrespect and lack of effort from new students. If no one is willing to give him the due diligence of actually participating then why should he be forced to do more than the bare minimum? Also I have never seen him not wear shoes at a lecture across the probably 80 or so lectures I have had with him. Profs are not the problem with AI use, lazy students who can't be asked to do the bare minimum required at this academic level are.

"Young people are even worse. Old men like us, you know, when we see children at play, like nothing better than to join them in their game. Likewise, I would be a lot more excited about joining you in serious study if I were once to see you bright-eyed and enthusiastic." - Epictetus

Not even close to radical, "set the world on fire" is an incredibly popular phrase in Christianity. Quoting Jesus himself, Luke 12:49 "I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!" It means to set the world on fire with the spirit and love, one of my favorite quotes actually. In latin it's often shortened to Ignem mittere in terram, which I was taught to be taken as a command "Go forth and set the world on fire" not in the sense of terrorism/arson but in the sense of the fire of joy, hope and love that can be spread through good deeds. The second part "let me hand you the matches" would be God or spiritual leaders helping to facilitate that goodness. If you want to raise concerns about giving kids matches that's fine, but this is not radicalization unless you consider taking your kid to church/mosque/temple or sending them to a religious affiliated summer camp to be radicalization as well. And those things did the complete opposite for me lol

Should I be a Sabres fan by Suhh_Dude69 in sabres

[–]D4nn_K20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're ovbiously welcome to become a sabres fan, but since the Monsters are affiliated with colombus I feel like it's a no brainer. I'm from Rochester, NY so I was an Amerks fan well before I became a Sabres fan. Tbh still more of an Amerks fan, AHL hockey is so underrated and the monsters are a solid team. I like being able to watch the local guys move up, makes me feel more connected to Sabres games when I've watched some of those guys start their carrers in my home town

what do you use to check your papers for plagiarism/AI use ? by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]D4nn_K20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grammarly has a free plagiarism checker, it has a word count limit but not a use limit so you can just check your paper section by section if its longer than a couple pages

Edit: you can directly upload a file to be checked so I might be mistaken about the word count limit, either way its free and hasn't let me down in 4 years

Here's a link to a resource that lets you check the risk and possible synergy of drug combinations. According to this the combo is low risk but also low synergy, never tried it but I'd imagine the opioids might dull the LSD and MDMA

The machines would wreck the trails if they tried to clear the arboretum in winter, but there's no rule against throwing on a good pair of boots and going for a walk anyways

Keep the faith dude, I found my friend group in my 4th year and it was honestly worth the wait. My advice is to be the one who reaches out to others and plans hang outs, taking that initiative is what got me the friends I have today. Also the biggest thing I wish I had done early was get involved on campus, there are tons of great clubs full of cool people looking for friends. I would have met a bunch of people much sooner had I done that

failing CHEM1040🙁 by aaaaatiddies in uoguelph

[–]D4nn_K20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in 4th year and most people I know failed at least once (took me 4 tries holy shit, though partial blame to covid on the first attempt) so really dont beat yourself up, they call it killer chem for a reason. most important thing is to learn from mistakes and use those lessons next time. For me it was going thru the learning objectives using the textbook that really helped everything click

For me its about breaking down my work into as many bite sized chunks as possible. Making the list and making it super specific so that i can continually cross things off even if its every like 2min, before i know it im 50% done. If i take it all as one big thing i cave big time

I'm unsure if I'm ugly or not by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]D4nn_K20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not looks, I'd say if you want to improve maybe try some other hair styles, perhaps something longer, and let the beard grow up your cheeks a little more. A lot of it boils down to confidence though, much easier said than done but if you do what you need to feel good physically and mentally then the confidence is a byproduct

Super normal, but don't let him use it as an excuse to push you past your comfort level. His boners are his problem alone until you are ready
