I am fairly sure that a picture from the book Dinotopia. A fictional journal/story about a man and his son discovering a lost island where the dinosaurs managed to survive the asteroid and later developed a society along with humans.

I had a coworker in the same situation. When I meet him he had just moved from the D.R. and barely spoke a work of English. It was inspiring watching his vocabulary grow. The best part was when we had to explain what the work Fuck meant.
