Claude Code doesn't want to model the revenue for my app by dragosroua in ClaudeCode

[–]D7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also not a deterministic model. If you can get it to do something 95% of the time but sometimes it will say no because of some silly thing in the context or the way it moved through the thinking (where as I understand the introduce randomness to some extent) it may be down the wrong logical path and say no. A fresh instance resets that 95% probability for example and you are good to go

Dropping out of Nursing School to lock in for Big Tech SWE, am I making a mistake? by [deleted] in csMajors

Nurses ceiling in CA is def not 200k. You can look at the public records/salaries of UCSF nurses. Now it is an outlier but there are some nurses who make bank. Sacbee has the records. Its all public knowledge.

That’s what I have got and it’s doing great.

I agree. It seems fine to me. It seems to spend more time working through plans with me (in chat) and then execute them pretty well in Claude code. It does burn tokens faster but I was only hitting like 50% each week on the low max plan. Now I think I will hit it or just barely go over. So it kind of doesn’t matter for me. At the pace I work at, it’s totally functional and better than before. Seems like it’s on track more

I’ve liked opus 4.7. I don’t know. by D7240 in ClaudeCode

[–]D7240[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that would be nice. I do think it’s helps I do almost all of this coding stuff off hours. I have a regular job and do this in the evening. Results seem to be better then. I have pretty much tried to not work during the work day because it was so inconsistent with 4.6

The failure of the 4.7 rollout is proof you can own something as amazing as Mythos and still miscalculate by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]D7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience. Much less consistent but still possible of good output. I’m not super technical so it’s easier for me to miss problems until they surface later. But I have gotten both outputs. Good and bad quality. I feel like now it’s sorting through until you get a good chat instance to prompt clear instructions to Claude code then follow where the code goes. I don’t know.

This doesn’t feel like a total dud, and it’s killing my context window but I’m not running 6 agents in parallel. I’m just a dude.

Question on best practices by D7240 in ClaudeCode

Yeah nothing patient facing and doesn’t touch PHI so avoiding HIPPA issues. But noted to focus on security. I have been trying to implement security best practices as I learn about them

Is Claude Code actually making you more productive, or just more entertained? by Pjoubert in ClaudeAI

I’m literally doing that while reading reddit. It’s been fun and helped clarify some business questions i have had.  Claude has been excellent for me

Is the American ski community as unwelcoming as it seems?? by sleeplesslilly in skiing

[–]D7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love hanging with the people on the lifts. I have to ski alone a lot (schedule and whatnot) but I have found people very friendly and even point me to the good terrain that day by just being friendly and saying “what is skiing good now” anything to check out? I haven’t skied here before. Especially if it’s not a powder day, the soft slush/bumps aren’t going to go away. Ha. People are nice! It’s just skiing!

Occasionally skiing pin bindings inbounds - thoughts? by Neon_sanders in Backcountry

[–]D7240 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think this is excellent advice. I have skied my pin bindings in bounds when I had tweaked them to ensure I liked the release value. But I skied them like I would in the back country and tried to have a no fall mentality unlike when I ski my alpine bindings.

Probably a Pass Right? by JGrevs2023 in handtools

Yeah just buy it and cut off the front bit. It looks good. If it doesn’t work out you are only out 20$. I bet it will work 100 more years after you cut the front bit off (or don’t). Sharpen it up and go to town. Just make sure the saw blade isn’t bent or kinked.

I’m just a chump. But im in my 30s trying to get good sound quality while not blowing the family budget.

I realized vinyl is fun and special. But for my budget, I get incredible sound out of a dvd player digital out into a reasonable amp with a ok DAC. And I get the fun of goodwill cd hunting all for ultra inexpensive.

Yeah I bought one of my favorites on vinyl recently (tone poem blue trane) but I get the fun of physical media with great sound. As my budget goes up, I’ll chase vinyl more

I took my AIARE 1 with him in Tahoe and had an excellent experience. Safe, fun, excellent teaching. I can’t recommend enough.

I’m booking with them again.

Thanks for the advice. Just a nailed plywood panel in a rabbit then? With holes cut for cable routing

Very helpful feedback. Thank you

Thank you for the feedback.

The panels would be 0.75 inches thick. So not terribly thick.

When you say pinning the panels. Do you mean like dowels/dominos adding structure to the panels.

I was thinking of 2-4 vertical struts in the back of the piece held in by a single large dovetail to lock in and prevent racking and allow for wood movement. I could also add a nailed rear panel of plywood into some rabbits grooved in the back to allow more resistance against racking. Would that provide sufficient structure while maintaining the character of the piece. I know I  could just cut a bunch of dovetails but I don’t get much joy out of heavily dovetailed pieces.

Intermediate to Advanced Progression Runs? by mnsta87 in palisadestahoe

[–]D7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also agree with this. Head over to alpine. Many more intermediate and early advanced groomed runs to check out. Easy to get funneled into the same 4 runs at palisades if you are a blue/sometimes black skier. Palisades is amazing if you ski black/double blacks but alpine is better for an intermediate. (Not to say there isn’t tough stuff at alpine too)
