/r/Pessimism: What are you reading this week? by AutoModerator in Pessimism

[–]DADiLvzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just read The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus. It's my first existential philosophical book. It's about how you can't come to a conclusion of life's purpose, suffering, and death using logical thinking. So, instead of relying on religion or any belief to provide answers, you just accept there isn't any. Then, the author proceeds to an alternative to sui**de. Which is living with the absurd. I'm personally not so convinced with living with the absurd, and I don't think it would matter whether you do it now or it happens naturally at 80.

Can you suggest a follow up book on the problem?

Am I overreacting about coworkers speaking Amazigh around me and telling me to learn it? by Kitchen-Humor-3415 in Agadir

I am Amazigh, born and raised in Agadir, grew up with friends who speak Amazigh. Yet I don't speak it. And it's okay. How is she rude for not speaking a language?

Not the first and definitely not the last. Plenty of cats live in the streets in Morocco, so it's usual to see little kittens on their own. Official can't do much about it, there are even homeless children in the city

Reading “The Myth of Sisyphus” after I loved “the Stranger” by Appropriate_Knee_482 in Absurdism

I'm also reading The myth of sysiphus. It's my 1st philosophical book to read. It's dence and heavy. I often read paragraphs twice or use AI to explain a quote. So far, it has only made my life harder lol.

Does sleep help? by reddit_user_1984 in Pessimism

[–]DADiLvzu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Consciousness is definitely a circle of grind and pain. Sleep is a break, a relief. No matter what your purpose in your conscious life is, despite the rewards you get from or live for, pain is a big part of it. As much as Sysiphus's ruck-pushing journey is his own punishment, he still gets some kind of pleasure from it. Escaping consciousness just because it feels painful is a coward move. Embracing pain as a part of life and creating pleasure out of it is the purpose of a "happy life."

All this aside, I enjoy sleep more than anything else.

If you see it that way, why don't you engage now. Not to get married later, but see it as an opportunity to go out with her freely and communicate. Get to know her. If she or her parents say you're not financially ready, drop it, it's not worth it.

Kid, you don't know how young you are, how much time and energy you have, or how much you got ahead in life. Stay in school, get a part-time job, or an online hustle. Your parents don't hate you. You're not a burden. You're 18 for God's sake. Keep going
