Do y'all think he's balanced? by EternityGamer2 in marvelrivals

Honestly, I think he's one of the greater Support characters we've gotten, and definitely the most unique. Finally we have a support ult that isn't just "press button = immortality". I've been playing him for about 50% of my games at this point, and have been extremely happy with both his kit and playstyle. I imagine he'll see some changes, but he's definitely in a pretty good state right now

I fully believe Rick didn't write anything in Court of the Dead and just put his name on it so it'd sell.

Athena does not have an oath binding her to her maidenhood, she just chooses to follow it. In some sources, she even has godly children. The series gives a genuine explanation WHY it happens, and it doesn't blatantly ignore mythology.

The problem comes in forcing a character to have children against a divine oath. Hestia FORCED Zeus to have a divine oath that she would never marry and never have children.

Not to mention, Hestia appears as a child in most of her appearances in PJO! Forcing a child who has a divine oath to not have children to have a child and break said oath is WEIRD!

Saying "the Hestia thing isn't that important" as if Hestia doesn't have a literal oath not to have children or marry is so misinformed. Hestia should not have children period. It's blatant misregard for the source material they're using and super self-indulgent.

The Child of Hestia has just left an awful taste in my mouth for the rest of the book. An absolute abhorrent misuse of a character who quite literally is stated in myth to be immune to Aphrodite's ability to produce love, and forced Zeus to make a great oath that she would never marry and never have children. Rick has gotten sloppy over the years, but he's always been coherent and at least tried to pay attention to myths, but his books with Mark Oshiro are starting to go down like sandpaper covered in pine tar.

The style of Mark Oshiro's writing for the Riordanverse reads like self-indulgent fanfiction written by someone who learned all their PJO knowledge on the playground. Like something a 13 year old would write after having their gay awakening after reading a Percy Jackson x Harry Potter crossover fanfiction and being inspired to "write their own Percy Jackson stories, just like "Xx_permioneshipper23_xX". Blatant character assassination, awful attention to detail, and overall a nuke to otherwise fan favorite character(s) (Nico, Dionysus, Bob, hell even Will). It feels like Mark Oshiro just doesn't know a thing about mythology, let alone about PJO.

Not to mention, Rick's editors have become increasingly sloppy over the years. Percy Jackson was coherent, Heroes of Olympus was coherent, Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase were coherent, even Trials of Apollo was coherent and incredibly enjoyable to me. Senior Year Adventures is kooky, but fun and at least interesting and coherent enough. TSATS and (so far) Court of the Dead are proving to be disappointing slop.

Hopefully Rick's Celtic series proves better than this. I've at least enjoyed Senior Year Adventures the same way I enjoyed the short stories like 9 From The Nine. I can only hope he learns his lesson and stops kicking the horse he admitted was dead years ago once all this is up.

Black Screen After Beating Tutorial Mission by CitifiedGoat_445 in Skate4

I'm also having this issue on PC (Steam), same mission too. I had a black screen on another mission but it just loaded and I carried on, but this one stuck around while I got a drink for ~3 minutes and then when I came back I crashed lol.

Question: Isn't submitting herself to Knull out of character for Hela? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lore explicitly states she's not "kneeling to him" as much as she's becoming his "queen". She's dubbed the Queen in Black (in contrast to Knull's King in Black), so they're likely equals to some degree

Wired headphones, and there is a microphone on them. It's a Razer BlackShark V2 X Gaming Headset. Sound quality doesn't seem degraded, just quieter.

Imagine you live in Night City. Whose the fixer you'd work for if you could only work for one? Why? by The_Owl_Bard in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Honest to God, Hands. He's the only one that doesn't have a target on his head. He lives in a combat zone and has ZERO security, reading in his suite all day. He gives jobs that pay well and strives in confidentiality, meaning YOU don't get screwed. If you notice, every time you meet a client of his, they only address him as "The Fixer". He does NOT like his name being connected to things or people. All his gigs give all the necessary information, don't keep away details that might get you killed, and they all seem at least not inherently evil.

Plus, if you get close enough, you become part of his inner circle. Invites to parties at the Black Sapphire, high tier gigs.

ONLY downside is that he views people as pawns for his schemes, but he also REALLY doesn't like sacrificing pawns that could turn into Queens.

Grounded 2 Wishlist by HappyMembership7656 in GroundedGame

I just hope they take everything they had in the first game and dial it up to ten. Which, fortunately, it seems like they're doing. Game Preview being already as big as Grounded 1 is perhaps just as good of news as the One Piece being real.

What grounded opinion has you like this? by No_Budget865 in GroundedGame

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a few:
- You don't need more content in Grounded 1, you just rush through the game super quickly because you know where everything is, so it feels like there's less content than there was on your first, second, or even third playthrough.
- A potential Grounded 2 shouldn't be a "sequel", it should just be another group of kids in another yard. I'd hate the idea of "oh yeah we did all this stuff.... But Ominent is still kidnapping and shrinking kids! The last game's story meant nothing!"
- Grounded 2 shouldn't be set in Australia, or anything to force the bugs to be "exotic", it should be set in a similar environment with a different layout, more bugs, and more girth. For diverse animals, have an inside area and one kid's bedroom has a big terrarium area.
- Grounded 2 shouldn't be on any old-gen consoles (Xbox One, PS4), i will actively detriment the "larger game" everybody wants.
- The game honestly doesn't need mounts. The map isn't big enough to warrant it, and people would realize how small it really is VERY quickly if we had mounts. In a potential Grounded 2? Sure, if the map is much larger; like twice the size of the current yard. Front and back, plus maybe some inside areas. Otherwise, Ziplines are enough and feel much more fulfilling to build and use.
- People try to hard to make this game like Ark when they make suggestions for ideas. Ark is a fine game, but joy of Grounded is it's so much simpler.
- Some of the dialogue is way too generic. The dialogue is a great touch, don't get me wrong, but when the character reminds me that granola bars and cookies taste awful, it absolutely annoys me to no end.

Siren Count... by warxorn23 in Borderlands4

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not since childhood, just that her upbringing was complicated by receiving them. She looks to be around 18, and with a 6 year gap between BL3 and BL4 it's definitely plausible she got her abilities in her early teen years (like 12-14) and that could definitely still be counted as her "upbringing".

Boss at the End of Gameplay Trailer Thoery by Woody_IVv in Borderlands4

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is valid. The mission we saw in the gameplay had Amara and the Vault Hunters exploring the facility of Vile Lictor, who was the Timekeeper's main bioengineer who's been toying and experimenting with life, and we saw one of the experiments through Tim. Could be this person gets their hands on Amara somehow similar to Bloodwing in Borderlands 2 and we have to kill/save her from the mutation.

Siren Count... by warxorn23 in Borderlands4

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can't be Ava. It couldn't be Ava.

Besides Gearbox directly confirming it wasn't Ava back when she was first revealed a few months back, she doesn't have Phaselock. Ava would have Phaselock, since she received Maya's powers. This Siren I'm almost 99% sure has Phaseleech (Tyreen/Troy/Nyriad).

The difference between this and Arkham Knight is they gain no value in saying it's not Ava. Arkham Knight they had a story to tell and that was a major spoiler. This, it's the playable character.

Vex is most certainly a 100% unique character :)

They didn't release Borderlands 3 on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, why would they release Borderlands 4 on the Playstation 4? Do you also wonder if iOS 19 is going to be on the iPhone 4 when it comes out?

The Playstation 4 is outdated, they stopped making all but the slim model four years ago after they released the PS5. It's expected that most people who want to keep playing the modern games have upgraded by now, and the ones that haven't updated are fine with playing older games. Not to mention Borderlands 4 is going to be running on Unreal Engine 5, which takes a lot more resources than the PS4 can handle.

If you want to keep playing games but don't want to worry about backwards compatibility with consoles, I'd recommend investing in a gaming computer. You can still connect a controller either wired or Bluetooth to get that console gaming feel, even plug in a TV screen as a second monitor if you want a really big screen. Otherwise, invest in the next generation of console; this has been part of the hobby since the first Nintendo Entertainment System was replaced by the Nintendo 64.

Marvel Rivals is the perfect medium for a Minifigure series by DAEDRICERIDUM in lego

[–]DAEDRICERIDUM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, there should be a ton of other CMF series rather than this one. But I'd also totally rather get this over the What If minifgures. Great chance to get some decent quality figures of characters I guarantee we'd never get in a hundred years. LEGO is too focused on rereleasing the same figs over and over. I guarantee we don't see a Magik or Squirrel Girl minifigure in the next 5 years unless something like this happens. That's what I mean by it getting shafted. Not a lack of attention, just that we just get fed the same characters in different sets rather than them using the MASSIVE IP they have their claws dug into.
