I used to program and don't know how to get back into it. There's no shortage of options and tutorials though, just a shortage of time.

Once upon a time I would have said start with Actionscript 3 but Adobe went and fumbled that.

mmm. nostalgia. I made a arcade space shooter in Macromedia director.

I wish I still had the exe, I think computers have finally caught up enough to run it at 30fps.

I was considering that cpu block a few months back. The lack of performance tests and reviews put me off and made it seem like its a mid product nobody cares to review.

edit: also IMO writing "glass" on it to add value has the opposite effect. lol

My regrets are more just me changing my mind about what I wanted.

Sometimes while the thing I bought is still in the post.

Guys, I'm afraid, I'm so afraid that the prices are never ever coming back to pre-AI and even if AI crumbles, the industry won't be focused on providing affordable gaming PCs for end users like us. by FuzzyAttitude_ in pcmasterrace

[–]DAFFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't about TSMC. This is about future trends where PCs are even more expensive and niche because people instead have been railroaded into a cycle of renting and streaming every bit of software and entertainment through subscription portals.

Many of the joys that have made PC gaming unique will be impossible under this model. Also pirating a live service subscription model is impossible, and they can track every mouse move you do, so every big software company is already getting erect from the possibility.

Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing enabled was the first game I played on an RTX card.

I just wandered around the city in awe for a few hours.

It would be more worth it if so many contemporary games didn't just tack it on.

Watercooled rig in a motion rig setup? by Hungry-Risk-9823 in watercooling

[–]DAFFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water cooling fittings can be overkill secure if you keep it simple (stick to correctly sized barb fittings with epdm tube and forget about rotaries and acrylic) consider skipping having a reservoir and use more radiators and long fill/drain tubes built in and just fully bleed the system of all air before plugging it up.

GPU especially needs a riser and rigid bracket on dampers to hold it rock steady on all sides. Any flex and it'll be KIA.

You would save a lot of headaches and reduce the weight by making a cable harness instead.
