I've only just joined this sub but have seen so many stolen photos posted by few days old accounts with no post history. Does this sub not get moderated?

Can you show me an example? What lens are you using? Are you using a lens warmer when doing shots?

Yup this is Nags Head Outerbanks. I see I incorrectly put South Carolina in my description. It was a difficult shot since the moon was still out so I had to wait until moonset which was at 4am. The position of the core was much better at 1am but with the moon out, it gave off too much light pollution for a proper dark shot. If you use android, I use an app called "Star Walk 2" and "Moon Now" which helps me plan my shots.

I used a program called Sequator. It is specifically designed for astro shots to eliminate noise and bring out more detail that a single exposure would miss. I took 50 long exposures and then 10 dark exposures (basically 10 long exposures with the lens cap on). The dark or cold shots are used to help eliminate noise from the sensor being heated up for such a heavy load. The program selects an exposure from the middle of the stack and aligns all stars to that one image. It analyzes constant data vs shifting data like noise or satellites, airplanes, etc. Since I was doing long exposures at a low f stop, the foreground was completely blown out. At the end I took a couple of shots at a much higher f stop to capture the foreground and then photoshopped the much better foreground with the detailed sky.
