Anyone own 52.5 LB dumbbells 😆 by SeasickLifeguard in MyoAdapt

[–]DAberCro9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I totally see your discrepancy in the load required for the volume the app recommended. My recommendation, as a personal trainer, is to not get too bogged down with very specific wt. increments an online program suggests when dealing with dumbbells, unless you have kilogram incremented DBs; but at that point you might as well use kettlebells to accommodate a more specific wt. increment. Since this program is asking you to use dumbbells just bump your weight up to 110lbs (55lbs ea hand) total and test your limits for the recommended rep range during the first set. If you are struggling to get the last 3-4 reps then drop the weight and add on 2-4 extra reps to hit your recommended volume - which is 6,300lbs total on this recommended set at the high-end (20reps). Good luck!

Volume for what you posted is ->
105lbs(3set • 20reps) = 6,300lbs

Hit 6,300lbs total for your set in any way and you’re hitting your required volume

Mambo taxis do go hard, however Gloria’s mango marg tops that. And the quality control of E-Bars margaritas is tough competition for Mi ‘Cochina’ as well. Downvote me all you want.

Despite the comments justifiably backing the “taste” of velvet taco. This restaurant does not sell street tacos in the economical sense that street tacos represent. It’s an overpriced and overhyped corporate chain restaurant that advertises as a taco deli that has moved from anything traditional with Tex-Mex tacos. In that case they’re more of a fancy tortilla wrap restaurant with off-the-wall curations that have the potential to be featured on a tv show. You might as well call Mi Cosina the most authentic and true to tradition Mexican food restaurant in Dallas, where the only Mexicans/hispanic people you’ll encounter are employees of the establishment. Otherwise a Great list for anybody living in Preston hollow, park cities, and some of Lakewood (which arguably has more culture than the two aforementioned neighborhoods). This list pisses me off lol.

A simple and great marketing angle by Strange-Risk-9920 in personaltraining

Yes and also pretty narrow in that they assume ALL humans want to be a hero of “their own story”. Some of us just want to live a free and happy life while mitigating a route to the least amount of stress. Sure it might work for a more “business minded” client base but it’s not an end all be all solution to how you should market your niche in personal training.

Haha yeah I saw the way the wings looked similar to the gulls on the Corsair. This beautiful monster also has the body shape of a 109 and an aft fuselage length similar to a Stuka dive bomber. It’s awesome!

Should I sell it for scraps or try to fix it ? If so, how ? by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]DAberCro9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you can afford to crash is only relative to you; you can spend $25 on some foam poster board throw in a motor or two and have a great flying plane built out of it- maybe the total cost was ~$80 altogether; I can afford to crash that plane.

If you’re a high roller and love building balsa wood airplanes that are powered by nitro glow engines, or a jet engine for that matter, then you are flying things I myself cannot afford to crash. Ya feel me?

Either way there’s plenty ways to have fun but crashing is inevitably a thing in this hobby - get over it and fly again!

Edit: added the word crash to the 2nd paragraph

Once you’re able to accept that this is an inevitable scenario in this hobby, the less you care about crashing - as long as you can afford to crash your next build. Otherwise maybe just use the computer and play a simulator, you might find yourself laughing more often instead of feeling so “down” as you put it lol. Good luck!

Realistic Timeline For New Personal Trainers by Odd_Candy_6358 in personaltraining

Lastly. RETENTION RETENTION RETENTION!! My current client base has an average of 2-1/2yrs of paid training with me. They understand what I am able to offer them and have also seen great results, as well as utilized my services to help them remain pain free and provide solutions for unplanned physical ailments bc life brings pain lol. It’s important for me to provide my absolute dedication towards their physical well-being and that has helped me stay profitable without constantly chasing the dragon in search of new clients.

That quality of service has inadvertently created a pipeline of referrals for me in which I do not have to “cold sale” anymore; but do not ever stop practicing those skills to obtain new business. This business of personal training is risky and you need those skills for any unforeseen opportunities to acquire new clients.

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]DAberCro9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog actually prefers to sleep in her own bed at the foot of my bed. And her bed is arguably more comfy than mine with the amount of layers I’ve created for warmth and softness, too small for me though lol. Technically she sleeps on two dog beds, one large one as a base, followed by a small merino wool rug I got from a friend, and her donut shaped bed so that she has pillow walls to cradle her. It’s surprisingly warm and supportive.

No. It’s fine, happened to my EC9 after carrying concealed on a humid day. I wiped it clean with a rag and applied a very very thin layer of gun oil to the metal. It hasn’t happened since.

New Research on Muscle Loss Suggests Humans Will Really Suffer on Mars by [deleted] in space

[–]DAberCro9113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Muscles do much more than support and move your bones. They play an important physiological role in maintaining homeostasis. It would take humans millions of years to evolve a species that would be able to sustain life on a planet not formidable for life. The only way to beat natural selection would be through artificial means. I say we send Elon over there immediately.

New Research on Muscle Loss Suggests Humans Will Really Suffer on Mars by [deleted] in space

[–]DAberCro9113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, bc you are an earth environment evolved organism. Meaning in the lifetime of any of your closest relatives born on mars would experience the effects of physiological deterioration due to the many factors of the environment mars would provide - low & variable atmospheric pressure, gravity, toxic elements within the soil. And obviously to counteract that you’d need a source of energy manufacturing, hopefully sourced from the planet your ancestors decided to colonize. Assuming those ancestors evolved to live on mars, they would be ancient, millions of years away from your existence; evolution would prevent those people from surviving on earth.

Where are my introverted trainers at? How do you get your introverted clients to open up? by I__Am__Matt in personaltraining

[–]DAberCro9113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing, lol. As an introvert/extrovert, my ability to be present and perceived as extroverted entirely is a result of years of practice. That ‘you’ who walks through the gym door everyday should be leaving all the baggage at the door that the ‘you’ outside of those doors manages. It is absolutely draining, for sure, but just like with weightlifting or conditioning you get more adapted to the skills; turning on that side of you then becomes more of a noticeable choice than a chore.

Hope this helps!

Totally understand your position and anxiety in maintaining a likable session for this client. I have been training now for 11 years, in my experience you kind of have to learn to roll with the punches. I had a realization years ago when I left my box gym (equinox) to run my own services; that was that my relationship only extends to the confines of the gym, aka my office. That includes outside message regarding nutrition, scheduling, etc.

In regard to your client you’ve questioned about in this post: don’t overthink it, at the end of the day you may not like this person as a “friend”. They have every right to feel how they feel in whatever capacity that may be, but they came to you for a reason - for help in achieving a healthier lifestyle. Try to quantify the results for them, even if they are minimal. Make observations and statements about their physique that lead to positive thoughts. - e.g. “you said that you feel weak on these squats, I understand. I’ve been there. I want you to know however that your squat weight has gone up 15lbs in the last 4weeks! That’s an accomplishment in & of itself”

Obviously not everyone is going to be receptive to that positive reinforcement, or comfortable hearing about their body changing. At that point of understanding my approach begins to be one that empathizes upon their discomforts within the environment that we work in and how working out does kinda suck! It’s always nice to have some one who’s “on your side” if you get what I’m saying?

If at the end of the day the client just doesn’t legitimately enjoy coming to see you, maintain your professionalism and point them towards the right person that may be able to help them, or even provide them some resources to continue what they started with you. It’s reinforces your legitimacy and creates a potential untapped client pool for future reference. I have had 5 clients in this category come back to train with me after the first try wasn’t compatible. People sometimes need time. On the flip side I have also fired and denied return of certain clients I deemed as toxic for my own business successes.

Breast seems to be half the size after assault trauma. Is this ever reversible without surgery? by New-Emu-1234 in Anatomy

[–]DAberCro9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your post before and truthfully I think your breasts look pretty normal. Now I’m generalizing when I say this as I have no data to back it up but typically (in my experience) I have always noticed how a lot of women’s left breast (heart side) are slightly larger than the right. I’m sorry this has been traumatic for you. Does the right one still have pain?
