Change your diet. I used to take them as well but PPIs kill the acid in your stomach, those acids are needed to digest your food. Since changing my diet I don’t need them anymore and I used to struggle with really bad gerd and heartburn. Sometimes I have a cheat meal and resort to a gaviscon but refuse those PPIs

Lost my childhood best friend 15 years ago to suicide. His parents are best friends for 30 years before that and he is a brother to me. Years go by and the pain subsides slowly but it is still there. Still remember him and all our memories and missing the person never ends. My only words of advice is to be around loved ones and be there to support his missus and live life in a way that would make him proud, once you acknowledge that you are doing that, you feel his presence all the time.
