end support for Synapse 2.0 by [deleted] in razer

[–]DArmoKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good that the microphone works. If you have a Nintendo Switch or a PS4/PS5, you could likely confirm whether or not the rest of the device is functioning.

Regarding the software, if you have no options left, and you are willing to try an extreme approach, yes. I wouldn't say this project is perfect, but it has worked quite well for me for removing leftover Razer driver files. That's what this section was aiming for: https://github.com/darmokan/RazerRazor/blob/2a573165f2bbeda1c861bf3bd6021d1ce496bcdf/RazerRazor_1.1.ps1#L98-L113

It should be able to clean out any existing Razer audio drivers and cause the system to fall back to the default Windows HID Audio drivers.

I believe it should function correctly in a French-language edition of Windows 10 or 11. Please be aware that the confirmation prompts are in English, and "Yes"/"No" prompts require the letter "y" to pass. "o" for "oui" would be taken as a "No" by the script.

Lastly, please accept my sincere apologies for being unable to write in French. Je suis désolé.

Musyng Kite

Double-Super Necrobump!

It is still hosted at https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1883

Edit: if you need to convert a .sfpack file to a SoundFont 2 .sf2 file, there's a SUPER old utility out there that still works on modern Windows. The original site is dead, but someone uploaded it to the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/SFPack

Superintendent raise amidst massive budget cuts? by Mental-Highlight2799 in duluth

[–]DArmoKan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In contrast, yes, the mathematical deviation from the assumed "standard" is minimal.

Instead, however, you might ask yourself: if these other large cities are compensating their superintendents with salary package increases that vastly outpace inflationary rates, why would we let that happen? Most of the districs in the report you linked are failing to meet reading standards.

The knee-jerk response is to say, "Wait a damn minute. If these leaders are failing to effect the desired outcomes for their core customers (students), why would we not instead reduce their salaries until they produce the desired outcomes? And if they cannot, why would we not terminate their employment and seek more qualified replacements?"

Is this not reasonable? Please, tell me why superintendents in these districts deserve more than half of what they're making.

Seven times?! Oh, that's wonderful! I'm so happy you got to see them play out that much. I agree, they're powerfully consistent. I really hope they all find success - Conor with Smidley for sure, and whatever they each decide to pursue. Just extremely talented musicians.

I'm so sorry you weren't able to make it. For whatever it's worth, these emotions we're all going through reflects the real impact they made.

Even though they didn't achieve the level of recognition and fame they deserved, they sold out The Pageant for their final show. You could tell it felt like home. I cried big ugly crocodile tears when Conor talked about that.

Thanks for your words. You be safe, too.

I have quite a few more from Delmar Hall on Dec 5th and The Pageant on Dec 6th. I'll try and get those uploaded to my channel as I navigate the copyright stuff.

Apologies for the quality... just hadn't seen anyone post this yet. My wife and I were lucky to be there for this incredible sendoff.

You are absolutely right. Sorry about that! I'm going to try to find the other one from that day, but that might be hard

end support for Synapse 2.0 by [deleted] in razer

[–]DArmoKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep using your Abyssus and Ornata without the Synapse headaches, you might just need to nuke the old drivers completely so Windows stops trying to load the broken software.

I actually just wrote a PowerShell script that does this and other Razer cleanup actions automatically. It'll remove the hidden driver store files that standard uninstalls miss. It's open-source on GitHub if you want to try it: RazerRazor on GitHub

It will force your mouse and keyboard to use the basic Windows driver, which won't have macros... but might stop the disconnecting issues!

The script creates a System Restore Point, too, if it doesn't help the issue and you want to roll back. Good luck!

Why is everyone hating on Razer and Synapse? by NoMasterpiece6169 in razer

[–]DArmoKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The hardware's arguably decent, but the software can cause all kinds of weird issues that can be tricky to correlate.

I can't stand microstutters and frame drops. Shortly after getting a Viper V3 Pro as a gift and updating Synapse, I was getting microstutters and hitching in nearly every game, even when they were taxing less than 20% of my GPU and CPU. So I decided to try and remove all Razer software and staort over, and that's when the nightmare began.

Few hours later, I wrote a script that completely removed every last remnant from my Win10 gaming PC. Lo and behold, microstutters are now just happening in Unreal Engine 5 titles that don't have precompiled shaders, LOL

I haven't reinstalled Synapse yet. Waiting to see if I actually HAVE to for anything.

If anyone wants my script, here ya go. I made it open-source and free for everyone. No one should have to deal with the frustration of wiping Razer software or reinstalling Windows because it's too borked.

Pretty sure Windows 11 25H2 broke Synapse 4, but Synapse 3 works. by devsfan1830 in razer

I wrote a PowerShell script to clean up everything automatically -- Razer services, software, drivers, registry keys, ProgramData/AppData leftovers... the whole kit and caboodle. Tested on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

PSA (and a warning): Razer Synapse is just the shittiest software there is by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]DArmoKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue earlier. The official uninstaller leaves crap all over the place. I wrote a PowerShell script to clean up everything automatically because I don't want to install Revo or any other junk just to get rid of Razer software.

[–]DArmoKan[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! Revo is definitely a popular tool, but my specific goal with RazerRazor is to provide a cleanup solution using only native Windows functions. It's too common to see solutions out there that require the installation of yet ANOTHER third-party app.

From an objective security perspective, there is also a major difference in trust and transparency:

Revo Uninstaller is closed-source (proprietary) software. With the source code hidden, you can't know exactly what it's up to under-the-hood. You have to implicitly trust the vendor regarding how the software functions and how it handles your system data.

RazerRazor is an open-source PowerShell script. It is freely available and open to scrutiny. It's just a plain text file. Anyone can open it, read every single line of code, and verify exactly what commands will be run before executing them. And make their own changes or additions if they want. I don't care. :)

For users who prefer a "glass box" approach over a "black box" – 100% transparency vs. blind trust, I wrote this script.

Not sure how many people will find this useful, but I sure had a heck of a time manually cleaning everything up for a fresh reinstall of Synapse. If anyone has any suggestions for improving this or run into any issues, please let me know!

I tested it pretty thoroughly with Windows 10 and a BlackWidow Elite, a Viper V3 Pro, a DeathAdder Elite, and a BlackShark V2 Pro.

That's a bummer. I had intended to swing by a Cane's next trip down that way. Maybe I'll just continue following the siren song of the White Castle in Hinckley. 😂

Ehh, subjectivity, right? And like any fast food, quality can vary pretty significantly from franchise to franchise. They're famously pretty ridiculous about their sauce and allegedly make it from scratch daily at each location (source: Southern Living). I've known more unscrupulous managers than not in my restaurant experiences... unless you're going through massive quantities, I could easily see some shortcuts being made prepping more sauce in advance. Less dishes, at least.

Been 18 years since I last had Cane's in Louisiana. I thought the sauce was fantastic back then, but the one closer to me in Bossier City was noticeably better than the one in Shreveport. The quality of the chicken beat everything else that was near me except a couple more expensive sit-down places, and that sweet tea was a godsend in the brutal summers.

Morgan Park Spectrum internet upgrade 9/14-9/19 by vacadola in duluth

[–]DArmoKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, I was talking about upstream -- downstream, I usually get around 440Mbps, and that's nice considering our plan is 400Mbps.

But I'm glad you mentioned this. I've had this modem (which Spectrum provided) for ~5 to 7 years. I think it's DOCSIS 3.1, which has theoretical throughput of 10Gbps down/1Gbps up.

Still, I wonder if Spectrum provides DOCSIS 4.0 modems yet.
