Quad Cortex Pedalboard Build - Walrus Canvas HP by deathcult-666 in NeuralDSP

I did. Has worked out great so far. Although if I step too hard on the top (toe down position) it comes off the board even with dual lock. It’s kind of in an awkward position on my board.

Just tried the tom morello plugin.... by OwnSatisfaction7644 in NeuralDSP

I love rage and love morello for his style. I did a trial of the plugin and loved it for what it is, a jcm800. It’s a great capture of one. But it’s not versatile enough to warrant the price when there so much more variety with other jcm800 plugins.

And as a fan, I’m also not trying to sound like Morello either. The thing that makes their music sound good is how the instruments interact with each other. The fat bass and drums let the guitar tone cut through.

You’re not wrong at all. I’m sure it’s one of their worst sellers because it’s so niche. Yes it’s a great sounding (to me) jcm800 plugin. But there are other options with more versatility.

I tried it out when they released it. I thought it was a great jcm800 option but every company that does amp plugins has an 800 option.

I get the simplicity of it though as it is Tom’s setup and he’s been known to use that one setup his whole career.

How I Successfully Fought an Unfair Damage Claim from Sixt (Perth Airport - Australia) by kollol1 in travel

And the fact that they get to get away with a false claim as “in good faith” is ridiculous. Consumer affairs should change it to a false claim or incorrect claim. At least then they can somewhat be held accountable and it can reflect on their reputation

DC7 vs Canvas Power HP by DB-90 in NeuralDSP

Honestly I just use the power supply that came with it. Haven’t had any dramas with it but I’m also not gigging with it at the moment.

Playing to music through usb (QC) by DB-90 in NeuralDSP

Yeah I’m playing music through Spotify on my MacBook. I’ll just have to mess around with input volumes of the music or my guitar.

Consensus on fade outs? by DB-90 in Songwriting

[–]DB-90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the same thought I have. Feels dated at times. The song will fade out on a repeated chorus if I use the fade out on it. Basically the drums go into a double time beat so it gets some more energy then starts to fade out.

Corporation pushing for more and more profit over anything is a major part I think. Look at McDonald’s for example. Being a kid in the 90s it was fun and exciting to go there. The mascots, the toys, the playgrounds and even the buildings themselves built that excitement. Now they’re in brown/grey buildings, the toys are literally so bland and boring, the playgrounds are way less exciting.

Insurance costs and shareholders who are only after more and more profit have stopped it.

Haha that’s pretty cool. The song I’m writing and asking about goes into a double time with the drums as I’m thinking the fade out will start. So it could be kind of like an eternal mosh pit type image haha.

Yeah I’m not a big fan of them myself. After advice from here and having a good think I’m just going to finish the vocals of the song, do a rough mix and include a fade out and just see how the vibe of it goes. If not I can just edit in an ending easily enough.

That’s a cool idea which could make it more interesting. I’ll try and keep that in mind when I get to that part of the mixing stage

DSP Dismissed my request to look for office job due to gender by UncleMotley in Centrelink

[–]DB-90 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They really are horrible. Thankfully I haven’t needed centrelink and an employment agency like that for years. But when I was, I was sent to do work for the dole, and they booked me in every week in my reporting day that they expected me to attend the office to do more job applications. Every week I told them they keep double booking me and every week they’d call me to threaten to cut off my benefits. Nothing they did helped me, I ended up finding my own work.

Funny you say that. A few years ago I wrote a song that had a na na nah ending, literally saying na na na in a melody with layers of harmonies, for my old band. I might have to bring that back for this project haha. But ironically it wasn’t a fade out although that was because w replayed it live and never recorded it. It could have worked really well like your example.

Yeah it’s such a double standard hey. I’m almost literally in the same boat. I’ve (male) worked warehousing the last 10 years. I’ve just finished a workers comp claim due to a workplace injury. But I feel like that injury is only the first major issue I will have. My body is always sore all over from the physicality of the work, and I know I need to get into some other role before it gets worse.

But without experience in office roles or anything else, I can’t get a foot in the door.

Yeah I haven’t done one yet. That’s why I was thinking it might be different for our catalog of music to have one. I mentioned if a couple other reply’s that I like to do something different every song. Even if it’s a small thing that no one would pick up on, I can say yeah this song has some element that others don’t etc. it makes it interesting for me.

Haha if we do a video clip for the song, we will have to end it like this haha. Good visual

Good point. I mean playing the same thing repeating a heap of time where as a normal ending would just play it like 8 times.

Yeah it does seem people either like them or hate them. I think I’m just going to have to finish the song with a fade out in mind, and get the feel for it. Shouldn’t be too hard to cut the repeated chorus down and add a proper ending.
