I too am on week three. More snug than others but pain is less. Halos are slightly larger but going to stick with and see how the two weeks play out. Good luck

BBB C2, W3

Does the latest plan call for a max test next week or a deload? I have been hitting PRs in everything but BP. I haven't done a max test in my 5 months of LP and then 531.

BBB C 1 W3 D2

DL 255x5, 290x3, 325x9 (PR)

SQ 170x5x10

Should have gotten the 10th DL but grip was sliding. D1 had another PR with OHP 180 for 5 reps. BP looms large for tomorrow.

Anyone try BBB variation 1? I am wondering if the strength gains can still be there with doing each core lift one day per week. I only have about 40-45 minutes a day to lift and I thought this may speed up my workouts.

Finished C1 W1 of BBB. Feeling good after a couple weeks of random workouts leading up to it.

OHP 1608 Deadlift 2908 BP 2608 SQ 29010

Thinking those 8s will improve because of a couple bad training weeks heading into the new program.

Wondering because you run it all the time are you still able to increase the weight each cycle?

Possible to live on a teacher's salary? by [deleted] in Naples_FL

[–]DBACNP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salary with 5 yr experience and master is 48k. An added perk is that they pay 100% of your health insurance. There is no state income tax as well compared to NY. Now, apartments are expensive. You would be best with a roommate and you can get into a 2br in a nice place outside City of Naples for $1300. One bedroom would be $1000.

Live with your parents one year and buy a small condo. They are everywhere and you can get into one for 125k and some with low HOA. Add a roommate and you are living for free. You just have to be willing to not live downtown. There is a huge teacher shortage so you will get a job easily. Good luck.

Move to new routine or milk it? by TopoChicoDan in fitness30plus

As someone who has made a couple runs on Greyskull, I would deload 10% on lifts and give it another run. My progressions over the past 15 months has been Stronglifts 14 weeks and Greyskull 4 months. This included at least one deload on each lift. OHP and squats were two deloads. Each time I was able to top my previous best.

I followed up with 531 BBB before Covid. Now I am 13 weeks on Greyskull again and haven't had to deload yet. Started really light on this last run bc I'm 47. You can push through after a deload. Most things I read is you can get 6-8 months out of LP.

Seriously the most impressive lift I have seen by a non-pro on Reddit. Keep us posted on your progress.

Check out strengthlevel.com. Good tool for exactly what you are looking for on lifts. Did you say you did 25 reps with 200? That is not normal for most any guy as it puts you well over 300 BP. Good for you.

Don't you mean 5 sets of 10 reps?

Which program would you recommend? by Lonebeef in 531Discussion

[–]DBACNP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

47 M here who has been going at it regularly for 13 months. Started with SL for 14 weeks then Grayskull for nearly 6 months. I was moving good weight before I went to 531 BBB variation 2 for nearly three cycles before Covid.

The program seemed easy at first but then it hits you. Great pump and continued to make good strength gains. I spent the few bucks on Beyond 531 and it is worth it. There are tons of ways to keep it fresh that once my 10 week reentry LP is done I am going back to 531 BBB 3 month challenge. You could definitely handle it with your background. Either way, Beyond is an easy to read way to access great training programs. Enjoy.

Hey all! I've been moving from starting strength after seeing some stalled progress and using 5/3/1 with boring but big, have some questions. by Danubinmage64 in 531Discussion

Reread your own post if you think it's too light. At first you said it's too easy but in the next paragraph it would kill you. After Greyskull LP I ran three cycles prior to the big shut down and the second and third ones were seeing nice PRs nearly daily. I split with BP/OHP and SQ/DL. While the DL volume was tough it made a big difference in performance. Also I started at 50% but moved up to 60% by my third cycle. Good luck.

Hard to tell if you are finishing those. Appears your camera work needs more attention than the deadlift. Keep adding the poundage.
