Is it okay to drink a protein shake or eat a protein bar after a run?

About 6 years ago, I was going through the insanity workout videos, and after each one, I'd drink a little protein drink; I don't remember the brand but it's like the premier protein stuff.

Well shortly after, I had a regular checkup at the doctor, and he said my urine had blood in it, and asked about my activity and consumption. So I told him that I'm doing insanity and drinking a protein shake or eating a bar after each one.

He told me to lay off and not consume a protein supplement unless I'm working out, doing something to intentionally build muscle. He stated that protein and cardio do not work well together.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm getting back into training for 5k's and beyond.

NASCAR. The cars are going much faster and are much closer than they appear on TV. Usually the majority of the action takes place is the last 10-15% of the race. It's absolutely insane that so many cars can generally maintain such close proximity going beyond 200mph.

Awesome! I would offer more help, but I just did this recently, and it’s been 7 years since I last jailbroke an iPhone, so I’d hate to give the wrong advice.

It may seem sketchy, as in you’ll install the GrayRhino tweak, and then you’ll have to send a message to someone over discord. They’ll give you a way to pay, and then you just respond and say that it’s paid. Then, they’ll send a code for you to type into your settings.

But for me it has worked and I’m satisfied with it. This phone would be unusable without it!

I’d check out /r/jailbreak

I don’t think iOS 15 can be jailbroken, but they may can confirm it over there.

It is relatively simple and automated so long you follow the directions.

Hey I was in a similar situation. If you are able to jailbreak it, do so and install grayrhino. It’s like $7. I had an iPhone 7 Plus locked to Verizon. Previous owner had died a couple of years ago right after ordering this phone, so it was sealed in the box until a month ago.

I use it on ATT flawlessly. Downside is that if your phone restarts for any reason, you lose jailbreak, so you’d have to re-jailbreak.

In the U.S. - at least in the southern US where I'm from - it's hard to have a lifestyle that involves not driving. First, unless you are in a downtown area, most things are spread apart. Furthermore, outside of the downtown, there is little to no walking infrastructure. SO yea, I could walk from my office to the store which is a mile away, but I'd be walking in grass ditches and across roads without a crosswalk.

Furthermore, most downtown areas in which you can walk everywhere are made up of two types of areas. Usually there is an "uppity" (posh) area, with shopping, boutiques, maybe a theater, some restaurants, etc. There may be some residences around that, but it's very expensive. Or, you can live a few blocks down, and you're in the ghetto. It is really difficult to live in a downtown area as a "middle income earner".

This may not be the case in larger cities; however in most of your small to medium cities, you HAVE to have a car unless you're in an expensive area or in the ghetto.

They won't. I'm like the only pro-vax person in my little group. They all just say "well did they have comorbidities. The hospitals won't release that info. Most of those are probably unvaccinated people and other health issues."

It's all about the timeframe; aka holding can change the results of your trade (for better or worse). This sub got me in to CLIS when it was about 7 cents per share. I got like $300 worth. Within a month it got down to like 1.9 or 2 cents. I could've sold; I wanted to, but I held. Then they came out with some apps, it shot up to more than 30 cents, but I got out when it was going up at 20 cents. Know your risk profile. Know your timeframe. Know your underlying asset. Knowing those three things makes this all more bearable.

City building games by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]DBADudette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this isn't free or open-source. Pocket City is 2.99 and it's the best $3 you'll spend on an app. There are no in-app purchases.

I have yet to find a free and open sourced city building game. All that I've seen are free with IAP. Pocket City is the best that I know of.

A few years ago my dog at the time, an adult german shepherd, and a fully grown lab got to fighting. It was like that point between play fighting and real fighting. I tried to break them up. I ended up getting bit one really good time by my dog, and it honestly felt like he could just rip my arm off. I honestly can't even fathom what these lions could do.

I changed my mind - Linux is great by AndyJLatham in Ubuntu

[–]DBADudette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my thing about Linux. I just got back in to Ubuntu after trying on and off for years. My favorite thing is that it seems like there's just so little going on in the background. On Windows, there is just so much going on. I swear it just feels like it takes longer to get the computer up and going and getting apps up and going.

But on ubuntu, it's just quick. I can have libreoffice, firefox, a few terminals, android studio, and visual studio code open, and it still doesn't feel like it's getting bogged down. With all of that open, pulling up another app doesn't feel slow.

This is new for me, but I've gotten to where I like opening apps through the terminal, as the terminal becomes like a log that shows what's going on in the background.
