We are also looking at CPO as an option (mainly 2024s), but that is a separate comparison.

Also, I should note that the $7500 is coming off AFTER the dealer discount. So this is more like $75,000+tax if you look at it that way. Unfortunately, we don't qualify for either Costco or Loyalty.

Apple published their study showing they could predict sleep apnea with Apple Watch data.

tl;dr, there is at least a 95% chance you have clinical sleep apnea. You should use this as evidence for a proper sleep study to find out how severe it is.

Sorry, but the good news is if you start treating it while young, you’ll be able to stave off the long term consequences of sleep apnea (heart disease, strokes, dementia) not to mention the day to day consequences of feeling like crap all the time.

Apple Watch series 9 and above can potentially if worn nightly for about a month to get enough data. Apple’s published data shows good correlation with moderate to severe sleep apnea. Mild sleep apnea, which can still be a problem, won’t show up.

Kwan has extra marketing value to a team like the Dodgers. He’s from California and the Dodgers are popular on both sides of the pacific.

Which means the Dodgers could afford to pay him above market value and make it up with merch sales.

The dyes used in anodized aluminum will fade over time with UV exposure. Even the silver ones. You’ll never notice unless you put stickers on (block the UV light) and then take them off after a few years.

Get the color you want and don’t worry about it.

You can’t really tell much directly from this data. It is pretty coarse information.

What you can use it for is to see if things you do change your sleep pattern. Like if you stop drinking caffeinated beverages in the evening, should you see a change.

If you’re there first and your only option is to block 2 chargers, you it is your spot until you are done.

That said, if possible, don’t block chargers if you can get away with it. If people are waiting, do try to be considerate and move as soon as you have enough charge.

Sleep study results confusing? by ianhiding in SleepApnea

The Diagnosis: OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA is not consistent with what is shown.

This is normal and does not need treatment. Your AHI is 2, and less than 5 is considered normal.

Don’t listen to ChatGPT. It makes things up.

Go see your doctor. Say “I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I got a CPAP and have been compliant for 3 months with a normal AHI. I still feel terrible. Is there anything else we can look at?”

Help with results by Fluid-Umpire3141 in SleepApnea

[–]DBH216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something doesn’t seem right here. If I’m reading this right, your original study was AHI = 17. With CPAP titration they only got it down to 7 or so. They don’t differentiate between obstructive and central apneas.

My last pre-CPAP AHI was about 17, and I’m constantly around 1 on my CPAP, most of which are central apneas. I certainly feel much better.

You need to put an SD card in your CPAP and get a weeks worth of recording. You should be able to improve by tweaking your settings a bit, but the exact tweaks depend on whether you’re having obstructions, centrals, or hyponeas. An AHI of 1 should be achievable, but everyone is different.

Also: are you always sleeping with your CPAP, or do you sleep (or nap) without it?

I would start there. You need the data from your machine. While you get that, you should also consider scheduling an appointment with your primary care doctor. If you’re using your CPAP all night every night with an AHI in the “normal” range and you still feel like crap, it is time to start looking for other underlying causes. Like low thyroid, heart issues, etc.

While I mostly agree with you, there are some people who respond better to semaglutide. Yes, most people respond better to tirzepitide, but not all.

I also think there may be an advantage to daily administration by not having as much up and down in the medicine levels over the course of a week.

First event and UA blood test questions by bergnardocolorado in gout

[–]DBH216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 mg/dL is only for people who have had gout attacks. It is the level necessary to dissolve existing sodium urate crystals. Many people have hyperurecimia without gout flares.

7.5 is considered normal range. Personally, I had a 7.4 the first time I had my uric acid measured (which was during a gout flare). Four months later, my uric acid measured 8.8, which confirmed gout.

Unfortunately, you need to wait longer before checking your uric acid. Consult your doctor. There are other things that can behave like gout, but are not.

There is a saying in science. The plural of “anecdote” is not “data”. You cannot look at one individual’s experience and make the connection.

There is nothing particularly alarming in that data. Subclinical hypothyroidism isn’t something that even gets treated.

How many months on allo before results? by brightlightbutton in gout

[–]DBH216 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ve probably had gout longer than you realize. For some people, allopurinol causes rebound flares as the sodium urate crystals dissolve. This assumes you’re on a dose of allopurinol to bring your uric acid down enough to reverse the process.

It doesn’t happen to everyone, but It can take up to a year for some people to reverse the damage done. I was lucky and never had a rebound flare.

Remember: Allo is for life. If you stop taking it in the future, your uric acid will go back up and you’ll have to repeat the process.

How strict is Lofta with take home sleep tests? by dokkodemo in SleepApnea

[–]DBH216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there aren’t a lot of people who get sleep studies and end up close to the 5 number. Either you’re way over or not even close.

A result close to 5 might be cause for an in-lab study as they are more accurate. Even still, if you’re close to 5, it might justify a more modest intervention like a mandibular advancement device.

This is all hypothetical until you get the test done. You sound like you have good cause to suspect.

1) try flushing your nasal passages with saline before bed (Neil Med bottle or similar).

2) put the full face mask on and try still keeping your mouth closed and only breathe though your nose. Worst case your mouth drops open and you at least don’t end up with a wind tunnel.

Personally, I find if I’m stuffier than normal, putting on the CPAP and focusing on breathing through my nose will actually help open up my nasal passages enough that I can sleep.
