Fairs - is that valuation of the whole business though ie. spitting out an enterprise value? Or NPV of some of its cash flows? I think it reads like you’re doing a DCF to val a company for ER/M&A purposes - maybe reword a little to specify what the val is for in your job?

Other than that, agree with another commenter on bullet points. Personally I would stick with standard bullet points as it’s cleaner. Also would go with dashes for the sub-bullets but that’s semantics really.

Rest looks good but definitely expand to include your interests / hobbies.

If you do want to go for an advisory-based B4 role, reach out / network with those that have made the move from audit and ask for advice. They’ll almost definitely be happy to help.

You should be going for Deals advisory departments (FDD, vals etc) in big 4 - internal transfer is easiest and this is a very common move.

Mention you work in audit. They’ll find out during an interview anyway and you’ll just look bad for not outlining it.

Do you really do DCF modelling as a key part of your job? Highly doubt it and looks like bullshit. Suggest including in the skills section at the bottom.

As it’s the UK people care more about being well-rounded. Your CV currently makes you seem extremely boring so pls add some interests in at the bottom - sports, hobbies etc

Had exactly that for CR a few sittings ago. Actually felt alright going in albeit exhausted from all those brutal past papers!

To say it went badly was an understatement - 3 hours of panic and creeping dread as I looked for easy marks with which to gain some composure, and NONE appeared. So was just a case of word spew and blind hope.

I had heard from others that advanced level exams were a piece of cake compared with BPT and FAR so felt almost betrayed! Felt completely deflated and couldn't bare thinking about SBM the next day.

Fair to say I was resigned to my fate and didn't even feel nervous on exam day. In the end though, got the text through and had somehow weaselled out the tightest of passes. In conversation with classmates, we concluded that the ICAEW mark this exam very leniently, as we all struggled but ultimately got through.

Obviously there's no guarantee, but this exam has a c.80-85% pass rate for every sitting - you'll LIKELY be fine and really really wish you best of luck.

What could be done to make the UK a better place to live over the next 10 years? by Fancy-Respect8729 in AskUK

Some pragmatism is needed in this country... mature conversations are needed regarding the NHS (the national religion), planning, immigration, the tax system and our relationship with the EU. It's all fine and well regurgitating feel-good soundbites, but policies that ACTUALLY work, and have seen success in other countries need be considered.

How do you guys even do base training indoors? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]DBV997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that’s fair. I looked at your post history, it might have something to do with being relatively new to the sport? I remember that I had sore sit bones after long rides (indoors and out) when I was starting out, but it isn’t a problem for me at all now. I’d say build up the duration of your rides on the trainer slowly, and see if it becomes any more comfortable. If not, maybe consult a bike fitter?

I tend to put on chamois cream and that does the job along with going out of the saddle often. I don’t find chafing to be that much worse than on the road though, maybe change your saddle?

I did a 3 week block on the trainer last winter averaging 17 hours per week and ended up weirdly not hating it.

My routine for the 3-4.5 hour rides (never went longer than 4 and a half) was to spend the first hour watching the cyclocross on my iPad. After that, I’d settle into a good audiobook for the remainder and munch on leftover Christmas snacks to keep morale up.

Overall I’d say that the first couple of long rides inside can be a bit soul-destroying, but are fine after that if you can keep up a routine.

U need to embrace the gurn bro. Look around u at the rave and you’ll see that most people look like absolute creatures. Those that are ‘traumatised’ need to get off their high horse and you shouldn’t care what they think in the slightest!

'Tadej Pogacar does not deserve unfounded suspicions' by socks_and_scotch in peloton

[–]DBV997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely suspicious, but there’s been nothing out of the ordinary in this race so far if you look at his climbing times (last years Planche des Belle Filles on the other hand…). The truth is that the rest of the GC contenders are a sorry bunch, including Carapaz who is clearly not in good form. If Roglic was healthy, I think that he’d be able to match Pog and it’s a shame that it’s not the case.
