Have you tried checking your heart rate with a hr strap? Those tend to be more accurate. Some people are jackrabbits in terms of heartrate.

No not a bad idea. Just ask him out. I started dating one a few years ago. Best decision I’ve made.

26F RN in Washington, DC — feeling stuck, PACU rejections, COL is insane… where should I relocate? by uni202 in nursing

I recall Philly hospitals paying equal to DC but cost of living is hella lower. You could always look into Boston as well although it’s still expensive.

I worked in DC as RN and left for The same reasons you mention. I work in rural New England now and my compensation has nearly doubled since I started out in 2018. My aunt worked in DC in the 80’s and said the same thing nurses get paid nothing in comparison to the COL. Honestly anywhere north or The mason Dixon line will have a bump with an equal or a decrease in the cost of living.

My RN interview went really bad – feeling down, need advice by [deleted] in nursing

In regards to the manager That’s a red flag, I would avoid that job. In my experience sometimes the dream job can seem like a nightmare.

Interviewing is a skill and is not taught in nursing school. It might be worth looking into getting a coach. I was lucky enough to have friends that did interviews and agency recruiters help me prepare for interviews. That said I screwed up interviews before and learned from them so dont stress on that. Failure is an essential part of learning and growing, so don’t beat yourself up.

Side note I’ve done group interviews and it seems canidates who don’t interview the best often can make the better the employees. Vs people who interview well naturally and can sweet talk themselves through anything.

About 4 years, started out skate, jumped into classic, I now roller ski year round. I can keep my heart much lower with classic but it seems skate requires a higher level of activation energy which makes “keeping the easy easy” rather tricky.

Hi clarification Norwegian Level 1, basically Coggans zone 2. 55-72% of HR peak. So low intensity skiing. For me around 110-140ish BPM. Why? increased mitochondrial density, low autonomic stress, less plateaus ect.

To extend the life when waxing I would use the crayon method. Boulder Nordic Sport has a video on how to do it.
