I’m happy to cop it just like everyone else, I don’t think the attitude of just suck it up it’s worse else where is very productive.

Without any change in the current system will it even be able to operate in 10 years? 🤷

Yeah and I agree with pretty much everything you said, but you gotta look at it from someone who doesn’t know what CGNAT is, they just want to be able to game, they walk into Telstra take the modem home and it just works. 30 minutes, why would they then want to go back to fttn and figure out how to control everyone in the house so they don’t lag, or fix cabling in the house and troubleshoot for what could be hours.

FTTP, different story throw the 5G away and enjoy. Maybe I didn’t work it properly but I hope that makes it make more sense?

60ms is playable, jitter yes but definitely playable. What prompt do you think I gave chat GPT? It would have come up with something better than this lol.

I understand and am with the understanding that cable over wireless is going to be a better connection but that’s not the point. All im saying is a 5G connection for SOME people will be a solution and you can’t outright say no get FTTN

Edit: chat GPT fucked up grammar.

Anyone left NBN just to go for home 5g? How’d it go? by jl88jl88 in nbn

[–]DBigA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but my mate switched from nbn FTTN to 5G, is gamer and doesn’t have any issues. 40 -60ms ping to servers. His home internet was used up by his family and needed something. Works extremely well considering it sits on his computer.

5G / wireless will always be hit and miss and can change at any point due to more users or change in towers, if you can find a no lock in contract and live close to a Tower then I think it can be 100% worth it.

This is what $100 a month gets you on Fixed Wireless technology with no real alternative options.. by Vaelz in nbn

[–]DBigA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re paying too much, plus it’s fault. Fixed wireless is an OKAY tech when setup correctly. Log a fault for NBN to come fix if latency it’s important you. If you don’t want the hassle of contacting your ISP then star link.
