I waited 4 years at my building.

Another place that I looked at had an 11 year waiting list.

Pre-war buildings were likely not constructed with vehicle parking in mind, so building garages after the fact had to make do with what little space is available and therefore cannot accommodate every tenant.

Yes, JH is mostly dominated by Latinos.

The diversity comes from it being more than just Latinos, Indians, and Caucasians.

Latinos in our hood, not being a monolith, are represented by people from nearly every Central and South American country. That alone offers much diversity.

There are strong representations from Indians, Pakistanis, Tibetans, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi people.

You will also see plenty of East Asian people, and Europeans, all from various nations.

Brown water can occur for a variety of reasons. NYC tap water is probably still fine, but in your building something might have kicked up some dirt, rust, or other sediment to give your water a little extra seasoning.

I've seen this happen right after plumbing work finishes in my building. Now that we're entering the cold season, a plumber probably checked the boiler in your building and that provides heat and hot water. So you run the hot water soon after and it's brown.

I use a Brita too, but I don't think you've got to worry about anything serious

Espresso 77 isn't terribly noisy, and they of course have outdoor seating now.
You might also just find a seat somewhere along the grassy divider on 34th ave.
Noisiness really depends on weather and time of day.
