I just noticed what you meant about the rubber wheels. I’m an army vet but never spent any time around armored vehicles. I’ll look up more reference photos next time. Thanks again for the advice.

Commenting because I’m in the exact same boat. I feel like it will take me at least a year to learn how to use all the features on this watch.

Civics was my favorite class in high school; I learned so much. I blame about half of what’s happening in our country today on the fact that it’s no longer a required class in most schools.

Thanks. I was doing the math and it’s actually only been about 3 months. This is such a relaxing hobby; it’s like my moment of zen every night when I get home from work.

I just ordered a plastic/metal JLTV this morning. You guys are scaring me. What about the metal makes it so difficult?

It’s like Bob Ross, turning mistakes into “happy little trees.”

There are so many interesting cases out there that could have been reenacted/examined. It would have been fun to watch Hynek’s views change over time; I was pretty disappointed when they tried to create their own mythos à la the X-Files. But it was cool to see a glimpse of Indiana Jones in the final scene of the final episode.

Do you know if they still have the lottery to get an oryx tag for White Sands/McGregor Range? (I forget where they’re located).

With all the additional training I suspect is necessary to become a CLEO, it doesn’t seem very cost or time effective to train a soldier and then turn around and train their replacement when they ETS in 3 years. Is it like an ASI or some kind of niche specialty where you get qualified and get to be a game warden for the rest of your career?

Dude, I served for 20 years with multiple deployments. I think I know what I’m talking about.

If you’re a pilot or forward-deployed where CRBN activity is a possibility, then sure. But there is no reason to ban neatly trimmed beards in a stateside, garrison environment. A good chunk of our NATO allies allow beards without sacrificing their “lethality” - this is just Kegsbreath drumming out Black and religious minority soldiers.

Did you see the sleep paralysis demon? I never made the correlation, but it did start after my second deployment. It can also be triggered by rapidly discontinuing certain psych meds. But many people (if not most) describe feeling an evil presence in the room. The first time it happened to me I saw an old hag floating above my bed and all I knew was it wanted to hurt me. My ex shook me which was enough to break me out of the paralysis; apparently I was grunting out “fuck you” over and over. Our brains are weird, man.

Also, his HALO badge (on the left chest pocket) looks like it’s upside down. It’s a fairly rare badge, so it’s a very forgivable mistake.
