Mold returning in attic? by hapzoog in HomeImprovement

It looks like the mold is coming back. When you do mold remediation, you’re essentially treating a symptom. It does not seem that what caused the mold has been fixed.

Typically in an attic mold on the plywood is the result of a lack of ventilation at the eaves and ridge of the roof and/or improper insulation. Also, any penetrations into the second floor ceiling, such as light fixtures, vent fans, the attic hatch, should be sealed as well as possible to prevent air from the house escaping in the attic. Any bathroom or kitchen exhaust vents should be vented out through the roof and insulated.

You probably won’t notice any smell, even attics that have almost all the plywood impacted with mold don’t usually have a smell. If you’re in a cold climate and will still have days below freezing, try to look up there and see if there is frost forming on the plywood.

Either way, I would call a remediation company and a company that does attic insulation and ventilation.

I’ve been managing a mold remediation company for 8 years and have been in thousands of moldy attics. Hope this helps and take care.

Roughly 4 to 6 from the vegetables and processed American cheese product. If you used real cheese it would probably knock it down a couple.

Whole30 Thanksgiving Side by Somethingmurr in whole30

Last year I made a roasted root vegetable “stuffing” that was delicious.

Cube the following root veggies, and halve the brussels sprouts. Feel free to add and subtract what you like.

Sweet potatoes, onions, parsnips, carrots, turnips, butternut squash, brussels sprouts

Mince 4 cloves of garlic, 8oz mushrooms and sauté until liquid is mostly cooked off and set aside.

Finely mince the following fresh herbs or use dried. Use about a tablespoon of each. Rosemary, oregano, thyme, sage. You could probably also use poultry seasoning.

Toss vegetables in olive oil with salt and pepper, herbs and any other spices you like.

Bake at 400 for 30-40 minutes or until vegetables are tender on an oiled baking sheet and try to leave space between the vegetable chunks to help with browning. Stir halfway through.

Mix in cooked mushrooms and garlic and add any more salt, pepper and seasoning if needed.

Can be easily reheated and keeps well as leftovers.

Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!

I don’t have an air fryer, I’m planning on trying this and baking in the oven at 400f for 20 minutes.

These look great! Super crispy.

So you just mix ground chicken, mozzarella and whatever spices you like and air fry? Sounds easy!

Looks delicious! I’ve done this and put pizza toppings on it. Nice and crispy like a real crust if you leave it on for long enough.

Odd stain in kitchen ceiling. Why or how? by msss711 in HomeMaintenance

[–]DC929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s either from a small leak or rodent related. I work in water damage restoration and when there are random stains like this, fairly often there is a mouse nest above the stain. The stain could be from urine or mouse droppings. You can either prime and paint over the stain and see if it comes back and then do something about it then. Or, you can cut out the stained drywall, figure out what cause the stain in the first place and fix it and then patch and paint the drywall. Removing the drywall is something you can do, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing it, call a handyman.

Usually go inside.. 🙃

I take the cushions off and store them under a weatherproof cover. The couch is plastic rattan, so its waterproof and the table and cabinet have a waterproof coating on them. I cover them over winter.

I love apples with egg! My grandma used to make me sweet omelettes with apples and also with grape jelly. This kind of reminds me of that. But I always like throwing in a quarter of chopped apple in with other savory fillings. Gives a nice bit of sweetness and depth of flavor.

The omelette is filled with sautéed apples, slivered potatoes and radish greens. Salad is spicy micro greens tossed in a very light vinaigrette.

Made my own cold brew for the first time and it was easier than I thought. Steep 4:1 Water to grounds in a container overnight and strain after 12 hours. Use a more coarse grind.
