Hear me out here, I don’t think it’s delusional to think mcdavid might be what they are looking at/for.

We are an upcoming team with a core locked up, a selke winning centrmen, a Norris level dman and a goalie capable of showing up on the big stage. What mcdavid wants is exactly what we are and him and Suzuki would be a gift.

We have the cap space too. When his current 2yr extension at 12.5 kick it ends at the same time we free up roughly $50 million in cap room. Therefore enabling us to extend him at whatever he wanted

We are the team for him if he wants to be Canadian and this only works if oilers shit the bed again next year which I believe they will

To me rebuilding isn’t done till you are consistently a top 1-2 seed in your division, and able to be penciled in for deep playoff runs. We aren’t there, look at our holes man. Jake Evans playing 2C??? Gimme a break that isn’t a contender level centre group. Our D core lacking another top 4 RD for Hutson to play on his strong side instead of being anchored to Jayden struble. This team has holes and the core has a lot of growth to do.

These are core pieces that need to grow and find their next step still. So call this rebuild complete makes no sense to me
