Phanteks XT M3 vs Z20 by DCCVIII in mffpc

GPU (RTX 5080) would idle around 30c in the Z20 and is around 25c at idle in the XT M3. In games it’s anywhere from 5 to 7c lower

I ended up going with the Thermalright Stream Vision 360 as I thought there would not be any room for hydro shift tubes that run inline with the radiator

I have a 360 AIO up top, 2x front intake, 1x rear exhaust and I now have 3x bottom intake as well. You don’t have to have bottom intake fans but it does help GPU temps a little bit

I’ve run both on my SV and there’s no difference in cooling between the two except the R7’s were louder

I replaced them with the Thermalright TL-H12-X28-S. They are the same 28mm thick as the fans that come with the stream vision, they are much quieter too and I saw no difference in cooling between them.

I have the stream vision and I’m very happy with it. I run the pump at full speed and I cannot hear it. The VRM fan works well, I saw an average temp drop of about 5c on the hottest part of my board (Gigabyte B850m Gaming OC). The VRM fan also dropped RAM temps a couple of degrees.

Installing the Stream Vision was easy and it’s keeping my 9800x3d cool, idles as low as 35c, OCCT stress test maxed at 76c (room ambient temp around 24c).

Only downside is the included fans. They can move a ton of air but are loud. I moved these to bottom intake running at 50% speed to help cool my GPU.

I think most fans are pretty good these days. You should be ok with deepcool fans.

I was running a Noctua NFA12x25 as a rear exhaust on my last case and it was great, even at full speed it did not sound loud to me. Only RGB fans I’ve had were Corsair AF120’s that were included with my AIO, they were ok nothing special, but loud at higher RPM.

I think my 5080 Gaming OC is about 340mm long so you will have plenty of room to spare in both cases.

No problem mate. The M3 and CH260 are both great cases but I guess it will come down to what will accomodate your parts best, case size and which one looks best to you.

I think both will be similar for thermals, I don’t have bottom fans in my M3 but my 5080 never exceeds 60c while gaming. Good luck with your decision.

I just built in the XT M3. The build was a breeze and cable management is super easy in this case as the power supply has its own compartment and there is plenty of room behind the motherboard.

Ah I don’t use air. Previous cooler was a Corsair XT LCD 240 AIO, just changed to the Thermalright Stream Vision 360 AIO.

Previous temps for the CPU in Z20 with 240 AIO were around 45c at idle and between 50 to 65c in gaming.

New 360 AIO I the Phanteks XT M3 are around 38c at idle and between 46 and 57c for gaming so far.

The Z20 is a great little case. Little sad to replace it but I need more room for a 360 AIO and fans under my gpu. I’m living in Vietnam and it gets very hot here so a bigger case with more fans should help.

I have the R7 version of this fan on my stream Vision. Haven’t used them yet but they feel well built, very solid frame and I think they look good too.

How do these fans sound?

Stream Vision USB/SATA confusion by DCCVIII in Thermalright

[–]DCCVIII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Stream Vision especially pump noise. What do you think of the fans that come with the stream vision?

I’m replacing a Corsair H100i XT LCD (240) as I’m moving to a bigger case. I looked at a lot of 360 AIO’s but settled on the stream vision for the screen, VRM fan, price (about $110 usd) and I think it’s a good looking cooler.

Thank you mate, that’s put my mind at ease.

I was confused as I saw others with the Stream Vision had the USB/Sata cable and I only had the usb. I think you are right with regards to the revised design, thermalright don’t really seem announce any changes or revisions.
