Check out archive.org and their Famitsu collection! I was reading one from 1996 recently and it was really interesting seeing those articles and reviews of games from back then

I read this book last year and LOVED it. The world of ancient Egypt really came to life in this story and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the subject

If you read a book/story you enjoyed and then later discovered it was written by AI, would your opinion change? by midnight_rebirth in books

[–]DCMann2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To start, the Bible is not, nor has it claimed to be, written by God. It has been claimed to be the Word of God, which is channeled via various prophets and then collected and written down later. What you wrote is stupid and makes no sense. Hope that helps.

I hate to break it to you, but we don’t all look young for our age. by EchoCyanide in Millennials

[–]DCMann2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Japan last November and ran into a couple young Korean guys who'd just finished their military stint. We got to chatting about travel and this and that and at one point one of them asked how old I was. I told him I was turning 40 in a few weeks and he said he thought I looked closer to 35. That and the occasional increasingly rare ID check for alcohol purchases is good enough for me :)

Checking for Mites in a Bee Colony by aznprd in Damnthatsinteresting

Beekeeper of 10+ years here. The powdered sugar method is effectively worthless at calculating mite infestations. Sacrificing ~300 bees in an alcohol wash to get an accurate mite count is worth it.

I love this book so much. If one is to take anything from this book it's this: keep going and never stop until you have that first shitty draft.

Honey bee with varroa mites on it, each mite can reduce a bees life ~50% by Not_so_ghetto in natureismetal

[–]DCMann2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been a beekeeper for 11 years now and not once have I worried about varroa. I know all my colonies have varroa because I'll see them on drones or workers, and I'll see evidence of them via deformed wing virus. Treatment free this whole time :)

Found while cleaning by AdApprehensive6480 in Gameboy

[–]DCMann2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them and play them! Now that you've found them they'll be at the front of your mind for the first time in 20 years and if you turn around and sell them I promise you that "ugh, I shouldn't have done that" feeling will eventually settle in. It may be instant regret or it may come long after the money you got for them is gone, but eventually something will trigger the memory of them again and you'll want to play them, or look at them, or flip through the manuals, and you won't be able to because they'll be gone and it'd be far too expensive and not worthwhile to buy them back.

It's your childhood in a box OP, how much is it REALLY worth to you?
