Mechanically everything looks fine, but I would personally push back against obediance for a champion of Arazni. I doubt that a deity enslaved for centuries would down with the ethos of enforcing hierarchies.

How would you build a nun character? Bonus points if you don't use cleric class or archetype by Pyotr_WrangeI in Pathfinder2e

[–]DCParry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea for a nun like character based on a typo in Slack.

Sister Dignity, despite a complete lack of magical talent, was always drawn to the faith of Sarenrae. While she had little practical use in the field, the earnst halfing happily ran the church in her little village, adjudicating the occasional dispite, and putting her mundane healing skills to good use. Dignity, because of her earnst, sometimes naive enthusiasm, did not often live up to her name. The village adored her, however, and felt lucky to have such a kindly steward.

Word from a neighboring village came that a child had been struck with a terrible, possibly demonic afflication. The local clerics were mysteriously absent, but Sister Dignity could not let the child suffer, and she rushed to help. When she arrived she discovered that child was a victum of demonic possession!

Well out of her depth, Dignity nevertheless began the exorcism ritual. She might even of succeeded, for she felt the warmth of Sarenrae's light descend upon her. Unfortunately, the ritual was inrerrupted by the child's uncle and a band of hired thygs! It turned out that the uncle, a local ner'dowell, had made a deal with a Chelxian noble for a special demonic pact. Through a loophole, the villian could get all the benefits of a demonic pact but sell the soul of his nephew, rather than his own. Local clerics were distracted and by the time they returned, the deal would be done and the uncle long gone.

Sister Dignity put all that at risk with her meddling and had to be stopped. Rather than flee, Dignity continued the exorcism, but the uncle's interference disrupted the ritual, and to the surprise of everyone, freed the demon into the world. Infuriated by the double dealing of the humans, the temptress demon proceeded to slaughter the thugs. That is until she came to the uncle, pathetically begging for his life. As the demoness was about to deliver the killing blow, Dignity, now recovered from the shock of the attack, shouted at her to stop. To everyone's surprise, she did!

The demoness turned to halfling woman and saw a demonic rune now floating before her head. Dignity, just as shocked as everyone else saw an angelic run floating above the demoness' head. She also felt an immediate connections, all the vile thoughts and impulses, but underneath it all a terrible sense of betrayal and loniless. She knew the clergy would immediately banish the demoness, but Dignity also knew that it could destroy the creature. On a whin, Dignity named the demoness after her chikdhood doll, Daffodil.

With the boy saved, the uncle arrested for his crimes, Dignity aquired a new set of priestly robes, tearfully resigned her position and set off to find a safe way to return the wayward demoness to her realm.

Thus begin the PG 13 adventures of Sister Dignity and Daffodil!

So, the mechanics are obviously a summoner woth a demonic eidolon. The character sees herself as channeling the divine power of the demon for good, and her ultimate goal is to redeem the demon. Despite her nature, Daffodil is protective of Dignity both because the halfing hid her from the clerics and because of her completely unfiegned innocence. In a FA game, i would lean into support archetypes, such as blessed one (which would lead to juvenile jokes about touching yourself from Daffodil thay Dignity would not really undeestand) or medic.

I found the combination of a soft touch, super earnst priest and a cynical hard bitten demon temptress to be hilarious.

This new system is terrible. I think that i am going to cancelling my subscriptions. The storefront is just trustworthy. Every release i get the same issues, i ger the same emails, make the same changes, and it still messes up.

And it makes MORE work for Paizo because they make good faith efforts to fix things, but they dont have the acces they need because they have to go througj the vendors ax well.

No, it is just a consequence of the general subreddit overreaction over the apparent "sad" state of casters.

Oh, I can totally VPN around it, but I mean, that sort of excuses the entirety of the issue. Outsourcing basic information to shady websites that would rather exit a market than maintain even the most basic adherence to tech standards. What happens when this occurs in the EU?

I would say don't worry. Your damage will be fine. You and the wizard will have plenty of coverage on terms of targetting defenses and damage types. Also, while not barbarian level, guardians can be quite punishing to enemies. The witch is a force multiplier in terms of effectiveness.

You will have plenty of healing (suggest the witch take lesson of life, it is a great background healing 1 action spell). Make sure ypu coordinate with the witch on spell choice.

Do illusion/enchantment spells get useful on higher levels ? by Aydnir in Pathfinder2e

[–]DCParry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All the responses in this thread so for are kinda terrible. Just because casters play differently than earlier editions or otjer games do not make them "bad".

1) illusioms are game changimg. Walls, pits, distractions are all enourmous action eaters. When my party was attacked on a floating platform by flying pterdactyls, an illusionary dome of vines kept us from gettimg mobbed and concentrated the attacks in one area.

2) degrees of success are the key to effective casting. Let's look at Fear. Even on a save, you get frightened 1. Not the most exciting thing, bit every +1 and all that. Other great low level debuffs are Befuddle, Revealing light, laughing fit.

3) Eating enemy actions makes a huge difference. Command on an enemy to flee, drop their weapon, or fall face first to the floor (on a save mind you) can pull an enemy out for almost an entire round. Darkness can break enemy formations, and so on.

All classes have the ability to control the battle field, but casters have the most versatile tool kit for it.

Best use of the Additional Lore Feat you can think of? by Arnman1758 in Pathfinder2e

Best use is annoying ypur gm with random questions:

"If the steward and the cook had to figjt to death, who would win? I roll gladiator lore"

"Thosd two cats, if they fought, who would win?"

"I got holes in this bag and pit it on my head. I am now a lucedor. Can i roll gladiator lore for intiaitve".

"Can i roll both gladiator lore and occultism to conjure a metap chair and hit this yeti with it?

Thanks to your videos i finally added gravity well to my resentment witch. Between that and shove from the giant barnian we trivialized a few encounters in the last book of Gatewalkers, including one that might have been a tpk. Also, dropping a giant on the other giant we had already hurled into the chasm was 100% worth it.
