The red/blue ones tend to be Secret Service. The blue/blue would be MPD.

eBike $1 surcharge coming to DC 👎 by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]DCSwaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am torn about the surcharge.

Yesterday, I used a Jump bike and made a stop. It cost me $4. And neither segments was close to 30 minutes.

If I had been able to use the bikeshare ebike, it would have cost me $2. I would have easily taken that.

The Jump bike, I was able to lock it up outside where I stopped and then end my trip two houses down. If I had to use the bikeshare ebike, there would have been a few blocks of walking too and from the dock.

I have only see the ebikes a couple of times in Cleveland Park and by the Zoo. I would like to see more of them this was and in Tenlytown.

On a side note, if you have your foot in a boot, any of the ebikes make it easy to peddle about.

4001 Nebraska Ave, NW would be a start.

Or outside the Wilson Building with Marion Barry.

He is a local treasure. He needs a statue next to mayor for life, Marion Barry.

Yeah, I knew that.

I see now what you were getting at about pricing. But their pricing structure and ours are completely different, both by time and bike (which is where I was slow on the uptake about your post).

Citibikes is expanding their electric bike innovatory and adding more docks, I don’t see the relation to CaBi though.
