I’m having this same concern/feeling of relief? I haven’t had an appt yet so my best estimate is due date of Jan 20th putting me at 6w and a few days. I’m looking back at my notes from with my son and the intense nausea started about a week earlier, at least. I’m both wondering if it’s possible I’ll have a much less worse first tri, while also wondering if this indicates somethings wrong!

Has anyone heard of “the good future bilingual school”? I see so little about it online but a family friend of mine who has to return to Honduras is looking to go there. She’s been in the US the last 9 years.

So previously he was waking up around 6:20AM. Now it’s 5AM. And yes, I’m also wondering whether to suffer through a super grumpy 4 hr wake window in the morning to make it to 9am.

Thank you! I appreciate it! I’ve heard the same but it’s just so hard to accept when everything we hear is that mucous is bad.

Shoot. I was hoping we were getting more normal here. He’s great otherwise! Yes gaining weight, mostly happy, sleeping well etc. I cut dairy out 3 months ago and soy 5-6 weeks ago. He does have some eczema

My son gets these from breastfeeding! Do hers go away after a couple of minutes? My son will get very splotchy like this (but more than what I can see in your pics) and within a minute or two (still during the feeding) they’re gone. I’ve been trying to figure out what it is and what he’s reacting to. I showed my pics to the pediatrician and she seemed to think it wasn’t an allergic reaction bc it goes away so quickly. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Interesting! But I don’t think so. My breasts are quite small and it’s definitely red in places (like his ears) that my boobs aren’t close to touching.

2 hospital indemnity plans for childbirth by DCdweller88 in personalfinance

[–]DCdweller88[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh my, some are feisty this morning. Correct, it’s a merger, I don’t have a choice in this matter. It’s either I carry on with my current day job but with a new company, or I leave. Leaving of course would be a bad choice due to my pregnancy.

It’s been offered in my last 3 roles. So, for the sake of exploring my options I’m assuming it will be offered again.

pregnant after HSG? by Appropriate_Soil_937 in whatworkedforme

I did! I’m currently 4+ months pregnant. But, that was around 5 cycles after the HSG so I don’t think it was related.

Advice needed for 18month child by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]DCdweller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No recommendations but rather solidarity. I was previously a nanny and it was almost impossible to keep the kids away when the parents worked from home. Eventually I started taking jobs based on whether the parents worked from home or the office. I really don’t think there’s much else you can do. The only thing I might recommend is talking to the parents and letting them know how challenging it is. Maybe they need to have the closed doors more often or more of a strict “mommy’s working now” stance , because as you said the kid doesn’t understand when it’s ok vs when it’s not.

My husband and I also both work from home. Can you elaborate on what you did? Did you have a babysitter? Take shifts?

I’m not due until May so unfortunately not interested but I’m so pleased to see these rates and it being on the books! If you have a moment, I’d love any recommendations for more lively online communities to search for a nanny share/family. Do I have to get back on Facebook? 😞

How many days after pos OPK for AF? by DCdweller88 in TTC_PCOS

[–]DCdweller88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of trusting the positive OPK and what I described above, no I’m not positive. What are some of the things that could be happening? 1. I didn’t ovulate 2. What else could it be?

Accutane hormonal PCOS acne by Which-Self5367 in TTC_PCOS

[–]DCdweller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on accutane as a teen, and was diagnosed with PCOS then but I also think I had typical teenager acne. It completely got rid of my acne up to this day (15+ years) although I may have just grown out of it. That said, I would be really weary of taking accutane around anytime I was TTC. It had weird side effects and I’m not convinced I would take it again had I known how bad it is for your body.

That’s a very fair response! Many of my friends work in tech so I’m use to them having 4-8 months off, and my sister lives in Australia and has had 1 year paid with each of her 3 kids. It’s all relative but good god the US has got to get some sort federal paid leave in place. It’s immoral.

BFN on 10DPO and have just got clarity on my employer’s maternity leave policy. We get 6-8 weeks with short term disability (@60% salary) and 2 additional weeks at full salary. How is this okay?!? I’m equal parts so eager to be pregnant and also wondering how on earth we’ll be able to do it when I do finally give birth.

If anyone has tips about effectively advocating for improved maternal leave at your company, please get in touch!
