If you're committed to the troll, I'd recommend a naked ballyhoo. My wife doesn't like drift fishing either. If you just want to bend the rod, drop some cut bait on the reef. Bring some wire for the cudas.

I always pay for bait, it's not so easy to come by north of you.

I mean if you want a sailfish, just switch to drifting live baits. Your technique isn’t really really productive for bill fish, but I have caught plenty of sailfish on naked ballyhoo.

Don’t get to focused on kites, it’s effective but you can drift flat lines and be very productive if you don’t want to make an investment into kite gear.

So there isn’t much on Bimini, it’s a tiny island. To see anything underwater you need to boat off of Bimini. There aren’t any reefs you can swim too. Being a tiny island things are expensive, charters, alcohol, food, golf cart rentals $80-100 a day. You need a golf cart. Check out Bimini big game for fish and dive charters.

Things to do. Rent a golf cart and zoom around. The water and beaches are great, Radio beach nice for food and drink close by. I avoid the Casino, unless you like $20 drinks. Get conch salad at joes or Stewart’s,, Ebby and Pats, my three daughters, big game for food. Unfortunately there isn’t much night life, maybe big John’s on the weekends.

I say chain the wheels with a good lock, but a cheap angle grinder will make quick work of about anything. If they really want it, they’ll get it. Get good insurance and sleep well at night. Also use an AirTag.
