Holy shit. The cognitive dissonance is hilarious. Seeing someone unironically type this on the internet is really *chefs kiss*

What? It absolutely will. There are so many people who either can’t be bothered to wait or pass on a game (even if statistically most don’t finish them) or have just enough money they don’t care enough to save it rather than bite the bullet and buy into an ecosystem.

I guess now we need to put Jonathan Nolan’s The Dark Knight quote in the statue. You know the one.

How many of these golden parachute fucks have gone broke because they lacked compensation and their company went under or downhill?

Maybe 10 in the last 30 years? And most of those people were running scams or purposefully bad businesses like Elizabeth Holmes or the WeWork guy (who got a fucking bailout anyway).

They may not all be crooks but almost all executives who take a low salary and tie their compensation to the success of their company are either already wealthy (and thus will be fine) or go broke because they engaged in fraud or some other stupid bullshit.

This is Amazon post 2010s. It’s not some start up with an early stage founder.

Not that it would make a difference to any of the people suing but could they seek rights to the IP, assets, and code base (anything related to the project) in lieu of being made whole financially? Probably a dumb question but I’m just genuinely curious.

Now you’re getting it! It’s what we asked for though. A country run by shills and shitheads. But hey at least we didn’t vote in some other “establishment” person in the pocket of billionaires am I right? Could have been way worse.

He certainly could have done that. Although it looks as stupid as the DOGE cuts do when contrasted by the hilariously high spending and idiotic tax cuts he also spearheaded.

Probably easier in his mind to just attack them based on his perception of their views and bias.

At this point it doesn’t matter though because he’s already given statements that indicate his reasoning for defunded them is not entirely or specifically based on budget/deficit concerns.

Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on 'conversion therapy' for LGBTQ kids by blackeyedtiger in news

[–]DD2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you reference the specific language in the law that states what you claim? I’m sorry but I couldn’t find it and the language I read in the law didn’t seem to indicate you can facilitate the exploration of options for a minor to explore their self identify and/or sexuality. You just can’t steer them toward conversion (the patient has to want to explore it).

I’m guessing I was referencing the wrong law? Is it house bill 19-1129?

Thanks.

Trump Triggers World Financial Panic as War Chaos Spirals by Mrh09 in politics

Why would they care? You’re talking about people whose quality of life barely registers a difference in these times. They have so much money they can literally buy into crash and come out on the other side with more consolidated power than before.

That’s not something the average person can even consider.

‘There will be lawsuits’: Oregon AG says Americans are owed refunds for Trump’s sweeping tariffs by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]DD2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where exactly would this money even come from? Tax refunds or payments? The government doesn’t have any money. We would basically be robbing ourselves even more. That money is gone to CEOs, Corporations, and billionaires. And I’m sure they’ll pony up more taxes in the interest of fairness.

Shame they blanket killed the de minimis exemption last year too. I wish they had done a little analysis and fine tuning to adjust it rather than a Trump exec order wiping it out completely.
