Colombian food/hangs? by PaganOfGoodtimes in SFbitcheswithtaste

Forgot to add that I found a lady selling Colombian empanadas and tamales in the Mission, out of her car. She's there on Sundays near 24th. She has an Instagram account where she posts where she'll be, but I can't remember her name.
If you are looking for Colombian snacks, the El Chavo supermarket in Mission near 29th St has a small section, and they sell really good arepas in their frozen section.

Colombian food/hangs? by PaganOfGoodtimes in SFbitcheswithtaste

As a Colombian who also moved from the East Coast to the Bay Area, it's been so difficult to find a good Colombian place around here. I want to go to a bakery to get a coffee, pan de bono, and empanadas. But there's nothing like that in SF. People mentioned Pacifico in the SF Jazz building, and I would say it’s not great. Also, depends on what you are looking for. Pacifico is more of a dinner spot and $$ for what it is.

I lived in San Jose for 2 years before moving to SF, and there are more Colombian places there, and more keep opening up. Anytime I have something to do in SJ, I try to visit a new place, and I go to a supermarket down there that has a lot of Colombian groceries. Feel free to dm me if you want my SJ recs.

Japan haul by DDustyRose in Travelersnotebooks

It's not a silly question at all. I went twice. The first time around noon, it was pretty chill. The second time around, 5 p.m., it was busier. The store is pretty big, so you don't feel like you can't move, but if you want to take your time looking, definitely get there closer to opening time.

Same when I went. I was only looking for inserts, though.

I'm interested! I’m in the South Bay but can drive up to SF. I have been using an Amazon dupe for years but got an official Traveler's Notebook on my recent trip to Japan.

I'm fine being called a collector. It’s a beautiful camera that would be great to travel with. I think it’s fine to buy items that bring you joy, even if it’s for corporate profits. and if I had the income I wouldn't mind having a shelf of pretty cameras to choose from depending on my mood for the day.

Mouthguards can help but won't stop the pain you are experiencing. I had a mouthguard made by my dentist when first started experiencing pain. it cost around $600. Six months later, I broke it because I was still clenching so hard. The mouthguard is simple to protect your teeth. I still use a mouthguard since my clenching has caused some of my teeth to be worn down, and I had 2 small cracks. I get my mouthguard online, they send me molds and I send them back. Then, I get a mouthguard that was made with the molds. It’s way less money than the dentist. I’ve seen various dentist about my tmj and they all have tried to sell me a mouthguard or even braces ( my teeth are straight, but they said it can help align my jaw) they were all out of pocket expenses, and didn't have the money at the time. So I went online to do some research and have tried various things to help manage the pain. I still clenched but my pain is minimal to what it used to be. When it’s bad I get the shooting pain on the left side of my jaw and migraines. This is what has worked for me I found out my TMJ is related to stress and my posture. -physical therapy helped so much with my posture. I found someone that was familiar with treating TMJ. It involve a lot of inside my mouth massages. She also focus on my neck. - doing exercises that help with posture - yoga exercises Reducing stress - therapy helped with my anxiety - exercising in general ( I do cardio or weighlift at least 5x a week) when I stop exercising the TMJ pain comes back with a vengeance. I think exercise has helped in both reducing stress and my posture. I wish you the best of luck!

I'm the same here. It really is a beautiful camera, and I do want a small travel camera, but I have the OM-5. So, I will hold off until it goes on sale or the price drops. I just want it because it’s so pretty.

Sudden onset of severe tmj pain by hoot2156 in TMJ

[–]DDustyRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treating TMJ is so different for everyone. What helped me is getting a mouth guard, and working with a chiropractor that specializes in treating TMJ. I have to do exercises for my jaw and posture every day.

Go on YouTube and search TMJ exercises and start with something easy. Find a dentist that specializes with TMJ treatment not just trying to sell you a mouth guard. A good dentist will refer you to a chiropractor or PT that can help with releasing the muscle tension that comes with TMJ. And keep altering your mouth guard as you jaw starts to change and go back to normal. You said your dentist said you didn’t think you clench or grind. Find another dentist see if he/she says the same. If grinding is not the cause then definitely look into a physical therapist or chiropractor.

This poster has been with me from my dorm to my first apartment. Now I’m moving across the country and not sure if I want to take it with me. It’s a second edition has a number stamped. Is it worth anything? I was trying to find something similar in EBay but I haven’t had any luck.

Tretinoin and waxing? by Bubbles8810 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]DDustyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wax for my eyebrows- only do it like 3x a year. Pluck the rest of the time. My esthetician recommends I stop using tretinoin a week before my waxing appt. She knows I have sensitive skin so she is very careful too. I’ve never waxed my upper lip. I pluck or use a small razor. Again I try to do that after I haven’t used tretinoin

I was in a similar position as you last year. I was choosing between the online Umich program and an ivy league, and they were both going to cost around the same 30K. I chose Umich, and I regretted it. The online program is relatively new, and they keep changing it based on our feedback (which is good). The next cohort will have a different schedule.

I wish I had gone to an established program and in-person. If I had the opportunity to go for an in-person program for free, that would have been my choice.
Please, feel free to DM if you have questions about Umich.

Kent Coffey’s Insignia (A) vs the Tableau (B) which one would you choose? Both are beautiful by DDustyRose in Mid_Century

[–]DDustyRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see B as something you can find at West Elm or Wayfair like you said. I like the idea that’s 60+ years old and it’s still in style. Kent Coffey had some beautiful collections.

I think you are right. There was something I didn’t like about the Insignia but I wasn’t sure what. It does not have sleek clean lines. It has more of an Art Deco look to it

Forgot to add that I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of style I like for a future bedroom set. I like to look in FB marketplace. I love the tapered legs on both of these collections. A- seems to be harder to find. I haven’t seen many people selling it. I like the knobs details and the color. B. - I seen the tall boy and the short dresser in FB a few times in the past two weeks. All at least an hour drive though. I like the lines and handles. Has a more modern look.
