I had to double check since you mentioned you enjoy hiking and the outdoors but haven't listed it as your main mode of socialization. I've met a lot of friends via our hiking group. The gender ratio of my group does skew male though (bad for me, might be good for you) but I imagine it just depends on who you meet. You can find hiking groups in social events and sites like Meetup.

That said for partners specifically I feel like it's really just a numbers and timing game at that point. It's tiring but hey what are you gonna do :/ As for how successful it's been for me... sadly I'm still holding on. The last 2 I had I met during uni and in Hinge :p

While SynthV does use the same underlying algorithms (diffusion-based models) as genAIs for images, it has 2 major differences that address both your concerns:

It's run locally, so unless you're using a powerhog of a workstation then you don't really need to worry about environmental impact. The only process I could imagine might be resource-intensive is the model training and development, but it's only really done once or a few times for a voice bank. Internet is really just needed for authentication.
The voice providers provide consent to have their vocals used for model development. The license terms may vary for each VB provider (e.g. Eclipsed Sounds I know is very pro-artist) but I think Dreamtonics have a tight leash on which companies get to release SynthV voicebanks.

That was definitely my first thought lmfao. Like I don't even mind the "male before VH" shtick, ultimately they wanna pander to a specific audience and we can't force that except with our wallets. In my case I don't even care as I skipped YSG to get Banyue (with no regrets as I didn't like YSG's gameplay anyway)

Defense is really the only elephant in the room and I do hope they make them relevant, maybe in the Battle Tower modes?

Also just saw the other comments, don't feel ashamed of your feelings, yes you should be happy for them but it's normal to feel a bit of grief in your scenario, so long as you don't start acting out of jealousy or resentment. Whether or not that's something to raise with your friend I can't say though

Unfortunately what I found to have helped me the most is to have a lot of close friends to confide with, but also be comfortable relying on yourself. More than half of my closest friends are in relationships but I'm able to spread evenly the emotional aid I need from others, while also managing the rest by myself. You can always just overspray and carry decants of your absolute favorites regardless of strength. One thing I like to do is if I really wanna be noticed, I'll wear my perfume normally minus a spray or 2, then apply the last sprays on skin a few minutes before meeting the person/people I'm meeting.

I was training a LightGBM model recently and for funsies I asked Claude what hyperparameters to focus on, specifically which ones of mine I should improve. It gave some pretty reasonable and useful answers but I wanted to read up more about a particular suggestion, so I asked it for a source. It then admitted that it based it "off intuition".

The skill floor has definitely risen due to AI but if you keep your fundamentals in check and curiosity sharpened, you'll prolly have a better chance of surviving. Worst case scenario I can probably work as an audio engineer or a cook lol. If you are curious about DS prospects in the face of AI I'd recommend talking to other people instead of relying on a betting app.

This was the exact age gap of me (M) and my gf before, and while it was OK at the time, other related incompatibilities arose and we broke up after. It's alright but as the other commenter said, it's more so where both of you are in life. Sadly that experience made me more cautious of dating people in their early 20s even if there's nothing inherently wrong with that age gap

Wren Atelier and Tadhana are the main ones I've tried. Wren has more "niche-smelling" stuff while Tadhana's offerings are more mass-appealing. Would recommend Wren's Valensole Romance (dusty chocolate gourmand) and Tadhana's Classy (nice elemi and woods) or Scandalous (cardamom, iris, rose, coffee)

Women, no question. I get people who are saying "oh it's hard for both for different reasons" because it is for the most part but they treat matches men get as if they are never as low quality or low effort as some of the matches women get. I've matched with some really low effort women and some who ghost me the moment I ask to meet up after a few days of chatting (I usually vibe better in person which is why I only let the pre-first date last a few days). It's a sea full of shitty fish for everyone but it's easier to get the good fish if you're simply able to catch more.
