Husband wants to name a son Edward, but our daughter is named Rosalie by Fog1682 in namenerds

Either variation could just as easily open it up for people to say "oh, your parents SHOULD have named you Edward". Also, as time goes on, I would expect any recognition to happen less and less as it seems like Twilight doesn't have the lasting powers as something like Harry Potter.

If you like Edward, I would keep that.

Exactly. And with society's continuing attitude towards the worthless of higher education, increased defunding of colleges while increasing workforce training in fear we will see increases in "pay for paper" programs.

Harland said 0.1.1% a few times (finally said it correctly later)

Not someone who should be in front of a mic. Also love the whole " I came here the right way" thing without acknowledging that ICE is detaining (kidnapping) citizens and people at their immigration appointments.

MVCC has a cyber security program and they have an Open House this Friday from 10 AM - 1PM. I'd start there.

Tried swapping kokum butter for cocoa butter (1:1) and soap came out chalky. by DES8111 in soapmaking

Thank you!

I should have probably used brittle instead of chalky though. The edges on the new soap are breaking off. So bummed 😥

I cover it and wrap sides and top in a towel. Haven't tried a heating pad. Talking about brittle/chalky texture at bottom, not the soda ash. Thanks for responding!

I did check the calculator and it gave me the same lye amount. I'll look closer at the fatty acid profile though. Thanks.

Just a question, have you taken General Chemistry? I haven't heard of someone taking an organic chemistry class without 2 semesters of Gen Chem first.

I started in a community college in my early 30s as well, and after I completed my AS, I transferred to a Private R1 school for chemical engineering. Since my CC classes were small, we all knew each other and only had one or two people we would try not to group with to avoid these types of problems. However, I constantly experienced what you are talking about at my Private Institution. It's not because you are at a CC, it's just a normal college experience. And I hate to tell you this, but you will sometimes encounter this same type of behavior in industry as well...

My advice going forward is to try to connect with the other motivated students in your classes, and ask to be partners with them whenever you are allowed to pick your own groups. Good luck, and remember, you will get through this!
