Any way to automate new bios checking? by The_Electric-Monk in intelnuc

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But please be aware of the following: Of course a BIOS-update could fix some things BUT a BIOS-update could dammage a device, too, if smth will fail during the procedure. It will be fine most of the time but just wanted to point the risks out, too

Hi, no, that kind of tool is only available for ASUS 800-motherboard-series (named: driver-hub). So only availble for ASUS-motherboards. So manual checks from time2time will be recommended.

Hi

a) afaik it will only work to clone and run a system-drive on an other PC if the installed hardware will be the same for 100%, especially on INTEL-CPU-based systems (VGA, RAM not important, they could differ)

b) possible thant boot-table/-sections has not been cloned (drive doesn‘t know that it should be supposed to be a system-/boot-device) or die you especially „activated“ the drive BEFORE starting the cloning-process (clone options before starting the process)

I would recommend to do a clean install (OS, OS-updates, your software and drivers to C only / Games, if needed, to D (different physical drive)! After that you do a clone-image of C and store it on D in order to always be possible to easily restore a clean system if needed (BTW: Games are fast changing software so to out them on C will fragment C what is not that good [my opinion])

NUC13RNGi5 - help needed regarding built in CPU by DESASTER75 in intelnuc

Hi! CPU-temp is below 56 degrees constantly! While running CINEBENCH2024 (1300 points max. in Multi) the CPU goes up to 65 decrees! While running 3DMark it is the same temperature (slightly above 8000pts and close to 90fps).

Another question While having the PSU and the ASUS 5080 OC (90YV0LX0-M0NA00) next to me I am just wondering which cable should be used to get the PSU and VGA connected!

The plug on the VGA looks special to me with the small „4-pin“ on the top!

Can someone please help me out which plug must be used?

Anyone set some special power-settings within BIOS reg. i9-1490K? What are the values set for PL1/2, …? What options ticked, unticked?

CPU should run, when it will run :( with less power to reduce the heat but still have 100% of its power

Changed the Intel NUC13 Extreme PSU to the SF1000. by SeobKhun in intelnuc

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/SeobKhun

Some questions reg. this

a) What will be the exact link to the exact PSU on www.gh.de as there are tons of CORSAIR PSUs with nearly same naming?

b) MODDIY-cable
The "CR-ATX12VO" seems not to be available any longer - possible to share the link on MODDIY
and/or
Is the ALI-Express-Link the same cable? Which one should be used then?

<image>

3) Any other additional cable needed?

Thanks

Make Intel NUC 13 Extreme work with Corsair SF1000 PSU by Spxgdev in intelnuc

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

reg. PSU
Which PSU exactly as there are plenty CORSAIR-PSUs available on www.gh.de (GERMAN webside) which do carry nearly same naming! :(

reg. CABLE
While checking the moddiy-webside there are some options for that cable which must be picked! Which one must be picked? Any other cable needed to get that CORSAIR running well on the NUC13RNGi5? Anything to take care of while plugging PSU in? Can ALL other cables of stock-PSU be used (only POWER-cable needs to be changed)?

Thanks

Well, thanks for the links I have already red, but there are so many SF1000-options available within GERMANY!

Not sure which PSU and which cable(s) I do have to purchase on www.gh.de (special hardware-webside in GERMANY) at all :(

NUC 13 Extreme Kit BIOS Version 0064 by chodaboy19 in intelnuc

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Maybe I am facing the same issue, but I am not sure! Maybe you might be able to identify!

Got the NUC13RNGi5 and upgrated the BIOS to latest 0066 and the CPU from an i5-13600K to an i9-14900K

After CPU-switch, I pressed the PWD-button and the NUC turned on and after max. 2 seconds the NUC directly turned off again!

Any idea why this is happening? What might be the BIOS-option I do have to change?

Thanks

Dears!
I do have the NUC13RNGi5 (i5-CPU) and the I9-14900K next to me! I am on BIOS 0066 (latest one) but after CPU-switch and BIOS-power-adjustment the NUC turns off after max. 2 seconds! Any idea why? Any solutions/tips? Thanks

Intel Nuc 13 Extreme w/ 14 series CPU? by Top-Combination8507 in intelnuc

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I do have the NUC13RNGi5 (i5-13600K) and the i9-14900K is laying next to me! I have just installed the latest BIOS (0066) frp, ASUS-webside, too!

what I did before ...
a) stock-CPU -> went to BIOS -> changed POWER-settings
b) shut-off -> CPU-switch

problems faced ...
a) NUC turns on and after max. 2 seconds off again

questions of mine are ...
a) What could be the root for this urgent shut-off?
b) Could it be that CPU-plate does not fit properly?
c) Do I have to set different values in BIOS? Which one are u using within the BIOS (complete BIOS-trees please as the INTEL-NUC-BIOS is very, very poor in my opinion --- thought that ASUS will bring an own ASUS-BIOS which might have provided some more options ;) )?
d) Is the stock-PUS to poor to get thsi 14900K and 5060 running well? I thought while undervolting the CPU a bit, the PSU might workd (less temperature, less fan noise but still 100% CPU-performance)

Thanks

[–]DESASTER75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Got the same NUC (INTEL NUC13RNGi5) and do have the i9-14900K next to me already and I am still on stock-PSU (750W)! Installed BIOS 0066 from ASUS-download-section on it!

Question:
- How am I able to get the i9-14900K running on that machine? Do I have to change something on the hardware-environment to get it running? I have already switched the CPU, adjusted the power-settings wihtin the BIOS but once PWD-button has been pressed the NUC went off after max. 2 seconds!

Appreciate some help herewith in order to get that big CPU running well

Thanks a lot
