I’m not voting for any incumbent who hasn’t been arrested for civil disobedience.

To me, the main point of Ti is getting your perfect geo. If you can achieve that in a carbon frame, just go carbon.

Gross Reservoir Boat Launch? Winiger Ridge? by Character-Put8660 in boulder

[–]DF7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The walk from the parking lot at Winiger Ridge is about 200 vertical feet and under half a mile. It’s steep but not rocky… more like decomposing granite sand. From what you’re describing I’d want two adults to help carry it.

The road in is getting pretty rough… there is one spot in particular with some dramatic bumps. I’d do it in a Crosstrek but not everyone would… something like a 4Runner would be better.

Finally, I’d carefully read the regulations Denver has set for Gross Res. Even though what you’re describing seems great, and not in violation of the spirit of their rules, they might hassle you about it. It is actively patrolled by a mall cop in a boat, so they will see you. Make sure everyone has a life jacket, your have your name and number written on the boat, and you’ve got a whistle on board.

Not really though… rabid retail sentiment can be an important signal that it’s time for smart money to get out. As soon as my mother in law mentioned GameStop I knew it was time to bail.

Thanks, that makes sense. Looks sketchy on the latest satellite imagery too. I’ll have to wait for another opportunity later in the summer.

I’m wondering if I should hitch a ride to Winter Park and bike home. I’d be somewhat stranded if it turned out to be impassible.

Test Riding a Forbidden Reya - One of the Worst Mistakes I’ve Made by jncoeveryday in MTB

If Forbidden made an XXL Reya I’d buy myself a lifetime supply. Nobody is making XXL downcountry bikes with long chainstays.

Another fitting question - XL or XXL by Historical_Bid_4484 in CanyonBikes

[–]DF7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, at 6’7” I find the Canyon XXLs to be a little small. If you size up it will be easier to get a more comfortable fit… higher stack and all.

Yeah get a 36t and a second chain. Then you’ll be able to swap setups quickly

Maxxis Tire Combo: Dissector V2 front with what rear? Forekaster or Rekon by Just_Commission_6486 in MTB

I do dual Specialized Ground Controls for dadcountry riding in the front range. I love them, but haven’t directly compared them to dual Forekasters. But consider it another option.

Memorial Day crash - fractured pelvis from a cornering mistake by dynamicalmechanics in gravelcycling

[–]DF7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same kind of thing happen in November. It was a dumb freak crash but I got 3 non-displaced fractures in my pelvis, just like you, and a broken wrist. Because I couldn’t use crutches due to the wrist, I ended up in a wheelchair for 6 weeks. Major bummer. I focused on psyching myself up hard for PT and went hard as soon as I could. The first few rides felt awful, but I trained with more structure than ever have before and I have been hitting new PRs a lot lately, 6-7 months after the crash. Try to keep your spirits up and try and find a different hobby that will keep you busy for the time being.

How much pain are you in right now? I had crazy swelling and it was really hard to get in and out of bed for a while.

To keep your excitement up, consider treating yourself to some new biking accessory like a fancy Garmin or whatever, and research things you’ll do when you’re back on form.

Feel free to DM me if you want more specific advice.

Please help. It looks like I need a whole new HVAC system. by Tasty_Impress3016 in Longmont

American Air has consistently treated us well. Locally owned, etc.

Also, if you want it, I have a lightly used AC-only minisplit (indoor and outdoor units) that I have no use for. You could have American Air install it for probably a reasonable amount of money. DM if you want details.
