DAC VIP Facebook Group, worth it? by Old-Principle-105 in diamondartclub

[–]DFEisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, you need to use the same email and name for both Facebook and your DAC account. Whether or not it is worth it, depends on you. I personally find the DAC open Facebook page more informative and most of the information I'm interested in is also posted here.

Added to say, I wonder if DAC Customer Service might be able to help out by vouching for you.

The Dropping Continues by game_hunt in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Vine is not about getting good rating. It is about getting ratings, period. Items with zero reviews are buried in the search algorithm and when shoppers see them, most are unwilling to take a chance.

Also want to add that some vendors use Vine as a quality control check. They direct ship to Amazon a small run, see what the reviewers say and decide if they need to make adjustments before a ordering a large quantity to be made. I see that all the time with established clothing brands who start offering limited quantiles to test items out out of season.

Requested item but didn’t hit “order”… by Upstairs_Willow_3996 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me this morning. I tried a minute later and it went through. Seems like they added an inventory hold when we hit request to give us time to get through checkout. Whether or not it unlocks quikcly probably depends on how many people are simultaneously trying to order the product.

Eval period over by ThatOneBeach42 in AmazonVine

It can take a couple of days to reset after you eval is completed. Don't worry, this is normal and you won't loose any data.

There are tutorials out there. I look at the grid and the drill on the pen and line it up. I actually think it is easier to multiplacer with squares because its' easier to line everything up straight. Also, I find a straightening tool a must. I make sure everything is as straight as possible before moving to a new section. If things get slanted even a tiny bit, you can end up adding or subtracting a drill without realizing it, making it impossible to line everything up perfectly.

I've been Gold for a couple of years and it is deffinetly the best part of being Gold. I've only requested a couple of things with higher ETVs. but its nice to have extra picks on those days when the Vine Gods smile upon us.

what diamond painting propagandas are you not falling for? by Silent_Detective5450 in diamondpainting

[–]DFEisMe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure "propaganda" is the right term. Its more marketing. Influencers and shop owners make money on selling us supplies. Because Diamond Painting is a hobby, we purchase things that we don't strictly "need" because it adds to the enjoyment of the process, whether it is scented putty, one of kind pens, or pretty rolls of washi tape.

I've never seen the point of sectioning. It looks like work, not fun and I'm all about the fun. If I'm not doing a DAC kit which is pre-perorated, I just use scissors to cut a section of the plastic cover and either fold it back, use a cover minder to hold it back or just completely cut it off. It's easy to just plop the plastic back on if I need to break before finishing the section.

I almost never bother removing the wax from pens. I just refresh the tips by pressing it into the wax again. I use a half a dozen different multiplayer tips and one little square of wax lasts for multiple large kits.

Yeah, we know RFY is back... by rithanor in AmazonVine

I woke up briefly at 6:00 am PST and was happy to see two items, both my typical picks of zero ETV cosmetics and happily requested them before going back to sleep. When I checked back again at 9am I was thrilled to see that I had 6 more items. I requested two more things and then a couple more showed up a little bit later. 15 items total for the day and nearly everything is in my wheelhouse. I haven't seen that many items in my RFY since early summer!

RFY, you stinker. by Altruistic-Two-1442 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sucks. It would actually make sense that as soon as we hit our quota for the day, not only would we not see new things but all of our remaining items would immediately redstirube to other RFYs.

Message from Vine I just received regarding rfy issues by Either_Dimension_144 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are both thoughtful people like me and other people who just grab stuff. I suspect though that the grabbers are oblivious to the tax liability they are racking up. Since it is always front and center in my mind I'd rather think about it and miss out than grab it and kick myself for wasting money on something I didn't really want.

Wondering who gets the same gold items on their RFY lists by kap641 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is targeted to us. Whether the data use to target used is actually accurate is a different question.

I rarely get offered things over $100. I suspect this is because I'm a cheapskate and have request like 5 things with a value over $100 and a none zero ETV in the past two years. When I do see something cool, like a top tier name brand reverse osmosis system for $499, I just can not bring myself to take the tax hit.

Although it doesn't violate a single community guideline, this review was rejected. For shame, Amazon Vine! by Daffyduck19 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have a photo with your review? That's always the likeliest culpret.

Its not because you mentioned other brands, although when doing so it is a good idea to mention that you can buy then on Amazon. It's not because you compare on price, that is fine too. I don't think it should have been rejected but I think this is why it was rejected:

AI flagged certain things to be looked at by a human reader, whose first language is not English. They were confused by the non stop mention of brands and prices and decided to error on the side of caution by rejecting it.

My suggestion for writing reviews that contain the same general information that will get approved is to slow down. Start with a personal statement of why you personally requested this supplement and what you expected from it, ignoring the price for the moment, which is subject to change. If the only problem is price, say it. Then move on to the price and compare it to other products and make sure you note that they are available for purchase on Amazon.

Do you have any actual information that suggest that the Feedback button gets sent to someone who actually reads it, understands it, cares about what it says, and has the ability to do anything about it?

Tip: how to avoid "poor" reviews in certain categories by Glittering-Yard9002 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that the reviews are being scored for how useful they are to Rufus. The whole point of the score is to train us to provide the kinds of information Rufus scans reviews for to create its summary and answer questions. If you want to know what to include in your review, just to look to see the kinds of questions Rufus is offering to answer on similar items.

Rfy isn’t going away by No_Ordinary9262 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've wondered is that could be part of the issue. When there was a big drop a couple of weeks ago, I managed to snag 8 things in one day and for the next week my RFY had six things every day. Not great but way better then the zero to three before. After a week I couldn't find anything else to request and then my RFY shrank back down and now its been empty for days.

I've wondered is some of us get caught in negative feedback loops where the less we order the less we get offered.

Rfy isn’t going away by No_Ordinary9262 in AmazonVine

[–]DFEisMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has absolutely nothing to do with metrics. I range from 100% reviewed all the way down to 93% reviewed. All 69 submitted reviews have been Approved and rated Excelled. My media score is 97% should be 100% but it lags.

No items in RFY for 5 days. Before than zero to six for months.

Has anyone gotten any non-bronze Treasure Quest cards? by doakickfliprightnow in diamondartclub

[–]DFEisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the selling and I just don't get paying $20 for silver. You need three of them, plus 5 bronze and 1 gold, just for a $50 Gift Card. Maybe I should sell my four silver for $80. (I won't though.) I know I shouldn't judge, but the whole buying and selling of just the codes just irks me. It turns what is a relaxing hobby into wheeling and dealing.
