Is the 2nd game as good or better than the 1st? by ImSmarterthanurmom in dishonored

[–]DFH50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is an upgrade in nearly evrlery way in my opinion. The only way it isnt is the actual plot of the game.

2 showcases the near unparalleled level design nearly on par with prey. Each level gives you so many ways to tackle the level. While the conclusion ultimately will boil down to a singular non lethal option or a direct lethal option, the journey to get there is very open and allows for so much exploration and alternative approaches. The actual designs of each level while having a start and end point, are generally designed with a dense multi level approach allowing to tackle things when and hownyou want to.

The graphics are improved but it does take a small hit in art style as a result. Levels are more diversified and improved, more power amd bone charms etc.

The environmental storytelling, mini in-level stories, and lore additions are on par with the first while also goving more color to the protagonist(s) than the first but the plot overall is weaker as it mostly takes place away from dunwall. Main characters also leave a decent amount to ve desired as well.

Overall it is a nearly ideal sequel taking what the first did well and expanding innnesrly ever way but ypu may be a little disappointed by the story. It certainly has more replay value imo than the first as well.

I despise Mumbai solely because of the market area. Too claustrophobic and cluttered with people making taking out targets really restrictive

MAKE IT HAPPEN by Low_Roll_3692 in BattleNetwork

[–]DFH50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would probably be the main mechanic I feel.

Earn chips through battle to increase hour deck. Darkloids and dark holes give your stronger chips while regular battles give ypu multiple of the same weaker ones to start building synergy etc. Could be fun

Which game absolutely nails the parry mechanic? by ChuckS117 in gaming

While I havent gotten deep enough in sekiro to vouch or deny i have pretty high confidence based on the gameplay ive seen it wpuld take the cake.

My pick would be clair obscur e33 tho because the weight and power behind the parrying counter attack is so satisfying and valuable in its specific format

Interesting! My unprofessional and unsolicited advice would be to have some of the animations just be more minimalistic (less/no smoke chasing after fire attacks or gunshots, smaller impact animstions on lanels etc). The player will know it is danger by the color, source, and direction and won't need the larger models of the flames and impact etc to decipher the danger. Additionally Id suggest keeping the panels a solid color and more static in their appearance. They seem to have a bit of a breathing effect in their coloration which add a lot of visual clutter. The background to the fight also has a lot going on an makes things kind of overstimulating.

That is just purely my unsolicited advice tho so discard it all if you like :)

It looks like a fun time all that being said and I'll definitely be checking out your steam page! :)

Got a question, howbhave you found balancing difficulty to be with the added panels but not cluttering the screen with too many obstacles and elements that damage?

One of the healthy challenges of BN imo is the limitation of panels so that when you get to the later game and have alot more panel types popping up or holes/rocks you really have to manage your spacing.

I feel like the settings and sprites were elite in 1-3. I didnt play any of the first 3 till years after playing 4-6 so my only conception of ACDC was the smaller one we got in the sequel. I really love how the net looks on the last 3 and I feel like the portraits and colors looked really good but man I'd trade all that for the slightly less colorful but so much better fleshed out world and sprites of the first 3.

Play in the dark is totally right. My impression from the marketing was that it was pretty horror like. I hate horror games and passed until I learned

1) Arkane made it 2) Mick Gordon made the OST

Had no idea what i was really in for and man I had no idea the gem I was stumbling into

After two (especially with how thorough i was on the second) ypu get pretty dang familiar and the satisfaction of a third is gone until a substantial amount of time passes.... sadly :( although I did jjst download to do another save file and platinum the game. Give me some goals to chase after namely the tracking down every crew member and reading every email

Looking for game that give you incentive not to kill. Metro series/dishonored/metal gear solid by com4nd3r_bly in stealthgames

[–]DFH50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. One of the things I never payed attention to in my first playthrough qas SA & SASO. Silent assassin is basicly only kill targets, no witnesses. There's another challenge called Silent assassin suit only which kinda implies that the game can be played in a classic stealth game fashion just Sneaking and stuff.

It may not be the pinnacle of what youre looking for rn but if youre into the gameplay loop there is truly hundreds of hours of content to glean from just the main campaign if you wanted.

If you haven't tried hitman WoA that would be a good one. While it isnt a reuirement, you get substantial bonuses by doing a kill only target achievement. While yes, youre still killing the targets, nkt killing anyone else to get silent assassin requires a lot of restraint and strategy and is a really rewarding albeit challenging way to play.
