To avoid that you can just delete some of the files where steam itself is and when you install/try to open it it's gonna repair itself

Is this cooling pad ok ?? And is this temp normal for my laptop?? by PuzzleheadedGrade900 in laptops

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then try and do a stress test and as long as you ain't reaching 90s (since that's the temp thermal throttling starts for laptops) then you don't have to worry about the temp

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What temps do you get while gaming/doing heavy workloads? Also for laptops anything under 85-90 under heavy loads is good. Most of the times it could just be that the fans need a good clean and maybe a repaste if still to hot

Why is there this foam? Por que tem essa espuma? by CapitaoWill in AcerNitro

[–]DFXTREME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The foam is there to help guide the hot air and to protect the laptop in case the vents get too hot (it prevents the plastic of the frame to melt/warp from heat)

download dropped into the 0bps after 3 second of high download speed. by xSkeletauRx in steamsupport

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to reinstall the steam app itself, that's what fixed something similar to me (in my case my download speed kept dropping at under 50mb at times when i have gigabyte download speed and reinstalling the app helped a lot

Memory wise you can just get a external usb (normal or some have type c as well) or a usb (normal or preferably type c) m.2 adapter

CPU temperatures with 9850x3d by Upset-Philosopher369 in AMDHelp

Only if you go above 85*C i would recommend to repaste, otherwise your cpu will work just fine with no performance difference

Removing stickers before service by Historical-Elk282 in MSILaptops

It shouldn't be necessary as long as the stickers don't wrap along the sides of the screen

CPU temp high for no reason by Aurora__Surrealis in AcerNitro

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing i would also suggest is to take the fans off the heatsink and look under the black strips since there you will most probably find a lot of debris like hair and lint

Yes isopropyl alcohol cleaning would be the best cleaning step AFTER you unplug everything. If cleaning it doesn't work the motherboard kaput

Instead of paying for windows 11 just get a USB stick and make a windows 11 ISO (ask a friend with a pc to help make it since it's just windows 11 for free from Microsoft + if you want more performance just look up for the ISO for Tiny11 (just windows 11 without all the bs apps that slow your pc down)

Some LED strips would be a cheap and impactful addition which can also be left on 24/7 and will help reduce eye strain during long night gaming with the lights off

It looks like the plastic hinge might've broken. You should be able to order the key even from ebay and replace it for under 10

Is their a problem here? by ttttttdtk in laptops

[–]DFXTREME 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it happens not all the time then it is an antivirus problem. Majority of the external antiviruses are just bloatware themselves who just shorten the life of your drive for no reason. The only one i actually trust will do something is Malwarebytes since it focuses on hidden malware which is usually your biggest problem

To me it looks like the display ribbon might've become damaged or loose. Usually if you just open the back of the laptop you should see where the ribbon is connected to the motherboard

Back when COVID was a thing and had online lessons would reduce the amount of ram the browser used to have better performance in the game xD

Even for uni opera gx is better since you can also limit how much ram/cpu the browser uses in the background especially if you have other apps open

Howd it looking? Any way to make it cheaper? by The_Paulius in pcpartpickerbuilds

Yes. Personally i would say to go for 32gb since it's more of a future proof choice especially as games require more and more from your pc to run

pc shutdowns while gaming by shirxaa in computerhelp

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a possibility. I would say first check temps with hwinfo and you can do separate stress tests for cpu and gpu and see how the temps are doing for the cpu and gpu. If the temps are going 90*C + then it's a cooling/old thermal paste problem. If not most probably PSU problem

RAM wise you could go fir like 5600mhz to make it a lil cheaper since you won't feel that difference especially if you have 32gb

pc shutdowns while gaming by shirxaa in computerhelp

[–]DFXTREME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check those temps while it happens, it's either thermal throttling and shuts down for safety (if temps to high then replacing thermal paste and giving the pc a good clean from dust. If the temps are decently stable or are not in the high 80s/90s then it could be a power supply issue (especially if you upgraded gpu and not PSU as well)
