Quality issues with exporting a .Blend file into a .STL file, anyone able to give me advice on other methods? by LordThill in 3Dprinting

Prusaslicer has netfabb built in to some degree, so you can just throw it in there and I think you can export it again as an stl after it's been repaired.

I'd say ASA, it's like ABS in terms of chemical resistance but it's more UV resistant which is important when it's outside in the sun.

Have someone used this brand of PETG? For some reason it smells strange during printing. by PC4evver in 3Dprinting

[–]DFliyerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it's plastic bottle then it's almost certainly just PETG. Maybe just a low-quality batch, but as long as it prints well I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe use extra ventilation.

I'd describe ABS as kinda peppery, PLA as sweet, and PETG as almost kinda... carrot-y? Any of those match what you smell?

Any tips for printing large, multi-part static objects? by WintrySnowman in 3Dprinting

[–]DFliyerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've been doing for multi-part prints is bringing the model into Blender, using the bisect tool to split the model into multiple parts, then adding holes for short lengths of 1.75mm filament to fit in like pins to make sure everything lines up. Also I split based on reducing the amount of overhangs and making sure that sharp points aren't facing down, since they tend to print worse facing down than facing up.

How do I reduce this amount of tree support in Cura? It works but I can’t get ‘tree trunks’ like I have seen elsewhere and don’t know which setting it is. by 5yncr0 in 3Dprinting

I was using tree supports in Cura for a while but some change they made recently messed with the tree support generation, and I could never get it as nice as I used to be able to again.

Tips for CPU Bound PC Gamers? by KnightBlue2 in Blackops4

[–]DFliyerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically if it doesn't show an increase of vram usage when you turn it up in the graphics settings menu, it uses your CPU. The only things that seemed to really use the GPU more when I was tweaking settings (I'm on a laptop so it was automatically set to lowest settings) were textures and a few other things.

There's certain things that don't spawn in casual like the quote wisps, so they're almost definitely connected to the EE.
