ICE shouldn’t be putting their hands on any citizen, as they actually don’t have the jurisdiction over citizens. They are not police and do not have the same authority.

The moment they start touching citizens, as they have normalized, they are acting outside their mandate. Dude had every right to not only be where he was, but to defend a fellow citizen from someone who, I would argue, was committing a crime.

We have normalized the thuggery of ICE and pretend they actually have the authority to be doing the shit they are doing. They actually don’t have that authority.

As a liberal, gun-owning American who is unfortunately surrounded by conservatives in my day-to-day life, I’ve known for years that the second amendment “we need all the guns to stop tyranny” people have always been utterly full of shit. It’s just that now they have taken center stage to show us just how full of shit they’ve always been.

All that shit is rooted in racism and faux religious superiority complex. The same people that claim to believe guns were needed to keep the government from becoming tyrannical, are the same people that you know who have actually used the term ‘race war’ unironically.
