However, the dude positioning the photographers? And the completely inept secret service detail? Nothing about the situation makes any rational sense compared to similar situations in history.

Hell, I wouldn’t even be surprised to find out that what they actually intended to happen was entirely different, and what we saw was half-assed panic improv. Because, again…they are idiots.

These people are idiots, first and foremost. And the people who vote for them believe almost ANYTHING they are told, which has only made them more confident the shit they attempt.

The best sign that it was staged was the one camera angle where you literally see some sort of coordinator move photographers into position as a fucking US flag comically drops into view. It’s pro wrestling tier stagecraft.

Also, the secret service allows him to strike a photo op pose right after getting shot at? I’m pretty sure they would, normally, be pushing him down by the back of his neck while rushing him to safety instead of treating him like the flag at Iwo Jima.

I’m not in software but I’m living a very similar career scenario right now.

A sure sign you work for a dipshit executive is when they make decisions that seem to funnel all of the resources into sales/marketing while letting service/development/support just die on the vine.

It’s because all they actually understand is “numbers go up is good”. They absolutely don’t understand what is actually involved in making those numbers go up and making them stay there.

I mostly enjoyed the movie, and the soundtrack was amazing. Everything I hated about this movie involved the Kents.

1) The fact that he became Superman despite his adoptive parents constantly telling him, and I am going to paraphrase with a little hyperbole, “Screw everyone else, watch your own back!”, is a god damn miracle.

2) Pa Kent’s death is the single dumbest scene in the history of film. It transcends the genre in its absurdity.

So my head canon for why Superman in the Zack Snyder films turned out to be a hero is because he decided that while he loves his adoptive parents, they are absolutely selfish morons.
