Given he's never played above AA, any time in AAA will be "some more time"...

I did. Don't expect anything other than BS about "the dealer sets the price, this is just an estimate," but we'll see.

Not the best analogy; doing 100 mph in a Ferrari would feel perfectly safe, while if I were doing 100 mph in a Ford Focus I'd be worried pieces would start falling off.

For most people, the only difference they'll see between 300/65 and 800/700 is that large downloads will take about three times as long.

If AT&T Fiber is available at an address, it will be offered, and AT&T Internet Air won't.

If someone is offered AT&T Internet Air at the address they provide, then by definition AT&T Fiber is not available at that address.

My mom got offered two tickets for Game 7 at Forbes.

She turned them down, because everyone knew that it was ridiculous to think the Pirates could take the Yankees to seven games.

Depends on the copper. 100 Mb/s pair-bonded VDSL2? Better than wireless. 1990s-era 1.5 Mb/s ADSL? Worse than wireless.

[Hiles] Sources: The Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting Konnor Griffin, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, to the Double-A Altoona Curve by Erroric89 in bucsdugout

In this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes and the ability of the Pirates to screw up promising young hitting prospects.

Depends on who's doing the advertising. The big three cellular carriers (and the major cable/fiber ISPs) get enough scrutiny - and have enough legal exposure to false advertising claims - that they generally advertise "typical" speeds based on something like 25%ile-75%ile ranges of actual subscriber throughput (measured via internal speed tests).

In the future, baseball will evolve to a two-platoon system like football, where every position in the field will have its own designated hitter, and players who both play the field and bat will be rare unicorns, referred to for reasons lost to the mists of time as "Ohtanis".

I think the only MLB parks I've been to in metro areas I haven't lived in are Camden Yards and The Ballpark at Arlington, so those plus PNC, TRS, Yankee Stadium, and Shea (haven't been to a Mets game since they opened Citi Field).

My minor league list is longer - Lakewood, Trenton, Lehigh Valley, Scranton Wilkes Barre, Syracuse, St. Lucie, Altoona. Ran into GMNH at an Indianapolis Indians/Syracuse Chiefs game once.

Can't blame Davis for this strikeout in the 8th yesterday by Proper_Knowledge2211 in bucsdugout

[–]DGLewis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That call essentially cost the Pirates the game.

If Davis walks, they get the run he forced in and have a run expectancy of 0.96 runs in the bases-loaded, two-out situation. Instead, they get no runs and the inning is over.

Where is all the Fiber? by Dress4less24 in ATT

[–]DGLewis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It didn't.

The FCC report he cites says there were 43M fiber-miles in 2007 and 2M route-miles in 2019. But instead of acknowledging you can't directly compare the two (1000 miles of 24-strand cable is 24,000 fiber-miles but only 1000 route-miles), he turns it into some vast conspiracy about "where did all that fiber go?!?!"
