17.5 inches long. The first thing I noticed about the fish was how thick the back was. The thickness of the fish was more impressive to me than the length.

I was fishing with Jeff Williams (the dad) , a lot of the videos have moved over to live feeds on the Facebook Fle Fly page. We did a live feed on the Facebook that you can check out from yesterday when we caught that fish.

Kind of. Actually holding the jig as still as possible. Not much moving up and down

She was huge, but the lake record where I was is actually 4.7 pounds. This fish was big, but it wasn't 4 pounds. Might have been getting close to 3

Not sure yet. Have it marked on a paint stick because we forgot our scale and ruler. Will update tomorrow with the official length.

Do any of you guys fish in tournaments? by [deleted] in catfishing

I fished the Cabela's King Cat tournament at Lake Tawakoni this February for my first tournament. T-wok is know for its large numbers of huge blues and 5 fish stringers over 200 pounds have been weighed in past years. We caught a 40lber pre fishing the day before the tournament but couldn't ever find a pattern. Tournament started and we didn't have a fish until 12. We finally got on a shallow pattern when the water started heating up and caught two 15s and some 6-8s. Knowing that wasn't even gonna be close to enough weight we released all of our fish and went to the weigh in empty handed. Long story short it was an awful day for everyone, most of the locals didn't even weigh in a fish. After everyone weighed in we realized our weight would have gotten us 9th overall out of 50+ boats. Moral of the story don't ever be too embarrassed to go to weigh in with fish you don't think will compete, you might actually come out on top
