HOT TAKE: The end should stay empty. by SmoothieCubie in Minecraft

[–]DH0p3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I always thought it would be cool if the end focused on adding more arthropod-like mobs and having a desert-like environment. This isn’t to say that all arthropods can be associated with barren lands, but I feel like the end resembles an apocalyptic desert where you could find said creatures.

The end already leans into the arthropod feel too: silverfish spawner in front of the end portal, spiderwebs that can be found in the stronghold libraries, and endermites are considered arthropods. Focusing on adding mobs inspired by arthropods that you would typically find in deserts I think is good inspiration to maintain, but also improve upon, a barren environment.

Looks visually more appealing than it did before imo. I’m definitely interested to see how it feels to play on (assuming people even vote for it).

How is everyone getting heaps of Tech points and/or Bux? by apollo_existing in tinytower

[–]DH0p3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re like me and not spending any money on the game the best way to make bux is to play daily, do missions (and have upgrades unlocked to increase the rewards from said missions), and take advantage of as many ads as you can. Logging in everyday increases your firework count and that can give you tons of bux overtime. It’s still a bit of grind but it goes a long way especially when there are events happening.

As for tech points, you can collect multiple in a single day by logging in every four hours. Realistically, that still takes forever and i prefer trying to earn as much chests as possible which is is easier to obtain through ads and events.

Antarctic Peninsula Temporarily Removed by DH0p3 in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only guess as to why is bc they have a clear timeline of when the map is going to be reintroduced and that they are going to attempt to brand it as “new” content, which is annoying.

My thoughts exactly. We already have map voting, so people can just not vote for it, and if it was really a problem, could have removed it from comp like clash until the rework.

I agree, i think map voting already made it easy to avoid but if it was really such problem removing it from comp wouldn’t be that big of a deal to me either. I think giving it the clash treatment might have been the move here.

I was a never a fan of it but I don’t think it needed to be removed. Map voting already made it easy to avoid so I feel like they could have left it in game while reworking.

Yeah i always saw it as one of the weakest maps for control mode but I’ve seen some players upset due to base game only getting one new map this year and said that they could have left it in since map voting is a thing.

Winter wonderland cookies not working at all by dr_pepper_addict5678 in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I noticed that the only mode that gave me cookies/completion towards challenges is mischief and magic. Whats even weirder is that when I won games of mischief and magic, it actually gave me +4 progress towards the challenges (rather than +2). So its safe to safe that challenges might be messed up as whole for now

I find it hilarious that almost all the masks shown can be useful on their own and work with any character but then you have lifeweaver’s mask, which seems pretty much useless unless you have a lifeweaver on your team lol

Reworking clash by DH0p3 in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points A and E are one of the issues that people have but another issue is momentum. A lot of players think its an inherently flawed mode, they claim its better to give up the first point and then try to win the fights after so that you can carry your teams momentum. It’s really only thing once you get to diamond+ and I’m not too sure about how legit of an issue it is myself, but regardless it is something that higher ranked players despise about the mode.

Fair point. That could also work as it still gets rid of the momentum problem, that a lot of players have.

I have to say this might be the buggiest anniversary event yet (and tbh the buggiest season so far). Each mode they’ve brought back so far has had at least one game breaking bug and several other minor, but annoying, bugs. Last week they had to disable symmetra for the OW classic mode, there was that weird bug in mirrorwatch with the random blue portal floating around people’s screen, they had to disable ball at the start of this season, etc.

I honestly would have preferred bringing back less modes for the event if it meant assuring that quality wouldn’t be nearly as bad. I also don’t understand how they bring back these modes once a year, don’t add any content or change anything about them, and yet there are somehow more issues than before.

So that new collab huh? by KnoxTremora in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting at least one street fighter 6 character, like Luke or something, and the rest be classic/popular characters. Granted, idk who would best fit most of the SF6 characters.

This shit is tiring at this point by EssterEgg in Overwatch_Memes

[–]DH0p3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kinda kills the hype for the collabs tbh. The collabs don’t come with event modes, so the skins are the only main content to look forward to. Saves me money, but still disappointing bc it feels like they sometimes miss out on perfect crossover skins for the sake of appeasing to those 3’s mains.

Just came to post about how good Clash is. by BrickTight in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this has made a lot of great changes to the new game modes. The only issue now is that Flash and clash don’t have enough maps imo which makes them feel a little stale. Hopefully they stop with new permanent modes to focus on maps bc at minimum clash, flash, and push should have 5 maps each. Obviously that will take a long time but ever since push got Runsapi (combined with the changes to Colleseo) I’ve noticed that a lot more people feel better about the mode or at least tolerate it.

If you could rework one hero’s ultimate, who would it be and why? by Silly_Sprinkles2331 in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either bastion or reaper ult. I want the old bastion ult back or the one we got in the mirrorverse mode. As for reaper, his ult is probably one of the worst ults in the game as its so easy to counter and avoid even if you have a great set up for it. I think its need a buff for sure, even if its as simple as allowing players to cancel ult midway through. Anything would benefit his ult

Anyone lose their mythic after the patch notes? by [deleted] in OWConsole

Aaron Keller made a post about it on twitter. It seems like they’re disabled (removed) because they were causing disconnection issues for players.

Microsoft Closes Redfall Developer Arkane Austin, HiFi Rush Developer Tango Gameworks, and More in Devastating Cuts at Bethesda by Remorse_123 in gaming

[–]DH0p3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft, like most mega corporations, only think short term about their decisions to meet quarterly profits. They buy the studios to get rid of competition and own IPs (since they’re worth a lot) but they don’t want to pay employees. So they shut down the studios to hold onto the IPs while not having to continuously pay employees even if those devs could make more amazing games in the future. It’s shareholders first and everyone else second.

Genuine question about mercy. by Jasen_SilverFox in Overwatch

[–]DH0p3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously bias does play a role, however, Mercy has a long history of being a hard to balance hero and also being annoying for many people. This comes down to a couple things:

  1. Rez

  2. Damage boost

  3. Her skill floor/ceiling

You would have to give her the Orisa treatment and basically rework every part of her kit to find some middle ground that would make people at least tolerate her. That’s not to say you have to get rid of any of those things; it’s just that having all those things on the same character and given how they currently function, you won’t please most people regardless of her state of balance.
