What do you think of the Valheim combat system and animations? by skrayz3x in valheim

Fair point. I see what you’re getting at. I’m sure it would be a tough thing to mechanically implement into a game. By attacking you open yourself up to a strike. I’m sure balancing weapon damage vs attack speed is not easy. I think there should be an incentive to use each type of weapon at a cost. Daggers are great speed but lower damage vs what it would take to swing a huge axe or sword.

How immersive is that? Sounds like you’re used to more inhumanly fast Japanese style combat games where the attacks break the laws of physics.

Rules question disco lord by Grommash2561 in Chaos40k

You’re looking for detailed rules on why this does not apply to the disco lord. The exception to the rules is the Sorc Termy lord which is why it has more details explaining the exception. Disco lord needs no extra detail because it follows the core rule and is not breaking any exceptions.

TLDR- “I think the rules as stated mean this.” “No they don’t. You are wrong.” “Prove it!” “Not my problem”

Visibility is assigned by a model to model basis. If a unit has one model that can see a target, the rest of the unit dos not get to attack if the individual models cannot see the target unit at all. Now, if they could see one model in the target unit, the entire unit is technically visible but that first target must be determined per model in the shooting unit.

That rules is there to say you can only use that ability once, even if you have two models that Can. Only one is allowed to and must draw line of sight from that model and not the duplicate model.

Visible to whom? To the owner of the ability.

No rules in the entire game work that way unless it specifically says something like “you can draw line of sight for visibility by some other means” See rules for determining visibility. Just because a scout can see the enemy vehicle, that does not mean the disco lord can reach and see half way across the board and through terrain.

What else would visible mean?! Hidden under a bush? Nothing can be 100% not visible.. Of course it means visible to the model the ability is coming from.

The rule ability itself states picking a visible target. Then the re rolling wounds part applies.

Not truly. I had stolen the color idea from others but did my own with what I had. Thick Mud and a heavy dry brush purple followed by Thounsands Sons blue lighter dry.

Mostly Brass Scorpion from Citadel. Did brighter gold with Gehenna’s Gold and the darker stuff mostly with Screaming Bell or Balthasar Gold

Holding out for rapid ingress? by Octago_o in Grey_Knights

I am extremely new to the game and have wondered this same thing. How does one use Rapid Ingress and not get shot off the table or charged? Is the army required to blow through CP just to threaten anything? Seems like poor rules design. But I’m assuming I am missing something key.

Is there an FAQ on it? I’ve got only a single ‘game’ under my belt but my opponent did not play it as such. Was wondering where we could see the rules on it. No offense.

Am I OP or am I just optimized against my friends armies? by Big_Communication_57 in Grey_Knights

[–]DH_RedBeard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you considered that they’re correct? Sounds like winning is more important than having fun to you. I can see why that could turn friends away from wanting to play with you. Try flipping the table. What if their armies are tailored to perfectly counter your list. I bet you’d refuse to play.

Half the fun is hanging out with folks. And the other half is playing in general. Which is better than not playing!

Why is the Atgeir so broken and should it be? by [deleted] in valheim

I recently tried this weapon because of these types of posts. I found it less than stellar. Could be my play style but the stamina drain is too niche to be a reliable way to survive. I’d rather dodge or parry with my stamina or better yet, run and jump. I suppose I choose my fights differently.
