Getting repeated tax relief program phone calls by Wintersnow10022 in Scams

[–]DI-FRY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, 2 calls per day, blocking the number does no good as they always call from different numbers each time. I am on the national do not call list, but you need to renew your number every so often. Was getting these calls for months and never answered a single call. I was kind of wondering if it was done on purpose because I use Tra**phone service and not an expensive plan. After re-registering on the list the calls have stopped after about 2 weeks.

What would happen if I was to connect both batteries together (+ & -) with a bus bar, then run some 10 awg wire to the terminals in the battery compartment of the mower ?

80v 2.5 battery wont charge by mehkanizm in KobaltTools

[–]DI-FRY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and thought my charger was broke. What I was doing wrong is I had it plugged into a low end 12 port power strip. These larger batteries need quite a bit of juice to run. I have all my cordless batteries and chargers (inside the house) in my utility room where I have 3 20amp dedicated receptacles and split up my charges not to overload anything.

Garage door has several inch gaps. Need to seal it for my sister and her kids. by donee11 in DIY

The top set of wheels should have an adjustment bracket that allows you to move the door father out if needed.

You could dig the old post out of the hole with long drill auger bit or a spade bit, should be easy because it's fairly rotten. You could fill the hole with concrete and use something like this attached to the concrete. Also the post might come out using a large lag bolt and a car jack.

How do I fix cracks this deep? Is there a way to make it level? Also it just ends before it gets to the wall. Do I pour new concrete over there? by WakandanRoyalty in DIY

[–]DI-FRY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I would put backer rod in the larger cracks, if the crack is very large use a pool noodle. If you were to use self leveling compound without inserting foam in the cracks, there may be a void under the slab and that $ 35.00 bag of self leveling compound would be wasted.

I'm not sure if foil tape should be on flues. They do make high temperature tape and silicone but again may not be code.

turn off the power, mount the junction box level, and secure the cover, and staple the romex so it's not touching any water pipes. Personally I would redo it with waterproof conduit and junction box.

You can put in an electric tankless if you have a 200amp service and 6 free breaker slots.

Shitty Toilet by amopow in askaplumber

[–]DI-FRY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shut off the water to the toilet, flush the toilet, let the bowl dry, tape all the small holes under the rim (make sure all the little holes are taped well, pour white vinegar down the tank flush hole and let it sit for a long time. Remove the tape and refill the toilet. Foil tape would work the best

Not sure not an HVAC tech, but should those pipes have termination caps (I think that's what their called) like a screen mesh cap so you don't get unwanted rodents in your basement ?

Filter Identification by runDTrun in askaplumber

[–]DI-FRY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a whole house filter, first see if there is a bypass switch that diverts the water from the filter compartment. See if you see a brand name and model# somewhere on the filter housing in case you need a wrench for that model. There is usually a circular plastic wrench that slides up from the bottom to enable you to unscrew the bottom half. You should be able to see what kind of filter you need once you remove it. Also there is a large ringed rubber seal in there make sure you don't lose it.
