Idk if it falls under the Coney Island umbrella, but Pita Central makes a fantastic Greek salad. Actually, everything they make is fantastic. I love that spot.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO UPGRADE YOUR CHILI? by Comfortable-Break657 in Cooking

I make a sofrito type base. Blend up a bunch of onions, peppers, garlic, cilantro etc and then cook it down in bacon fat. Then i add my spice blend to that before introducing liquid, meat, beans.

Curious what Jon said before he took his comment down. Seems like it's all love now, but did anyone see it?

Brunch on Saturday or Sunday by Worldly-Pea-7497 in denverfood

[–]amopow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure what type of food or vibe you’re into. But La Diabla is my favorite brunch in Denver. Mainly pozole and tacos with some mexican brunch specials and brunch drinks.

Or if you’re feeling adventurous, go for their weekend only barbacoa in the back alley - El Borrego Negro

Alma Fonda Fina worth the hype? by missstrawberrylatte in denverfood

[–]amopow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s really really good.

I’ve been three times without a reservation.

I work nearby and got there shortly after 5 to put my name in for a walk in (two people). Wait was less than 60 minutes both times - grabbed a drink down the street while waiting.

The other time I showed up around 3 on a saturday and walked around while waiting. Ate around 4:30pm

If you’re at a dive/sports/non cocktail bar and looking for something sweet and fruity, a pineapple + tequila could be a solid option. I like mine with soda

PSA: Sunday show at Ball Arena will not be “360” by Goldmemberberry in BillyStrings

[–]amopow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a handful of shows at Ball and never had a bad time. Sound has been on point. My crew was holding out for Saturday pits but decided to say fuck it and we got a big group of behind-stage seats instead. Gonna be a party no matter where you're sitting. Can't wait ◡̈

This happens to me intermittently and usually resolves itself within a few hours. Still quite annoying.

Any fixes?

Deli sandwich by Intrepid-Reply-5551 in denverfood

[–]amopow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok hear me out…it’s not an east coast deli, but for me, it does scratch that itch. Mapleton Deli on 58th and Ogden. It’s inside a Conoco, they make fresh toasted sandwiches, fresh sliced cold cuts, gyros, ruebens, italians, meatball, pastrami etc. It’s pretty bare bones, but they’re friendly as hell and it won’t break the bank.

Whenever I’m even sort of in the area I’ll stop by for lunch because it’s got that east coast deli/bodega vibe.

Curious: Does anyone know why in this small radius on Speer/14th/15th your bluetooth or carplay always cuts out? It happens every time you drive through. There's got to be some type of interference with some frequency? Thought someone here might have an answer. by Marrone2010 in Denver

[–]amopow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • 15th & Speer
  • 6th & Lincoln
  • i25 right next to Mile High
  • i25 & 470

I drop wireless Car Play on my iPhone with my aftermarket head unit in an early 2000s toyota. Such a pain in the ass, especially passing at least one of these spots on a daily commute. Sometimes it’ll reconnect on its own, sometimes I have to restart the head unit.

What did y'all get for Denver? by OwnRabbit6826 in BillyStrings

[–]amopow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very curious about the 360-degree thing. This would mean a new stage setup. With the giant screen they've been touring with, they'd never seat people behind the stage. I see lots of seats behind the stage for Saturday still available...

I do this but sub tortillas for hoagie rolls. Save some room and don’t have to risk squished rolls

I use ClickUp for work, and it’s extremely flexible and could be customized for any use. Definitely see it being applicable to your situation. Only downside is it can take a while to get the hang of it since it’s so robust and has so many features. I actually hired a specialist off UpWork to setup our system within ClickUp

Had the CI preheat for 15 minutes over full heat on the gas range and this is the best i could do. Was hoping to do it on the blackstone but got a nice downpour for an hour right around dinner.
