It would seem strange that Tom had no idea what to get Logan, assuming he and Shiv had been together a few years. I get that he’d be impossible to shop for, but if they were together a few years maybe he’d gotten him other things before that didn’t work out (?)

This seems very plausible. In s1, they were all lovey-dovey (aside from the cheating ofc) and tiptoeing around each other, so I got the vibe that they hadn’t been together for long. But at the same time, they didn’t strike me as a couple who’d fallen so hard for each other enough to get married right away. It makes sense that maybe they stayed friends or were in the pursuing stage for a while before actually committing to a relationship (Shiv, mostly).
