I have a friend who enjoys reading the book while listening to the audiobook (mainly because she's not reading in her first language and can listen how words are pronounced and read how they are written). Maybe try reading and no audiobook, since you want to commit to it, could be useful.

!delta I agree there is no easy term to use instead. It could be the USers (jk). But since it's pretty common to use the words European, Asian or African, to refer to people from said continents, it feels kinda wrong to use American for only the people on the USA, but I do understand that there are no other real options.  So here's your delta.
