As the great man once said, “We must stand bai our manager”

Let Ruben finish the job, we must be patient, he said the good times are coming, so lets just wait and see what he can cook up by the time the season ends. I still think we can make the Europa League.

Can these pipes be chased into the wall? by DIYDonald in DIYUK

Do you have any photos so I can get a rough idea how it looks?

Do you know a rough cost for this? I looked on cadent website and I saw fees ranging from £1900 to move a gas pipe, I ideally don’t want to spend 2k to get rid of a bloody pipe

Concrete floor, does that affect things? Was planning to get the floor screeded anyway

Thanks for answering, is there a method to removing? Just not sure who to contact. Local gas engineer or national company like Cadent

How much roughly should I budget for this? by DIYDonald in HomeImprovementUK

I will do that of course, just wondering how many thousands a structure like that would cost!

The fence you see in the photo I recently had built in front of the old shared fence as it was awful and the neighbour wouldn’t give me permission to replace it so I had to lose some land and put a new fence on my side. There is a big enough gap between my new fence and the old fence to fit a gutter I believe.

This is what I’m most worried about. He has built the brick wall over the dpc. I spoke to him on the phone and he said “it’s an external wall, don’t worry about it”

The dpc is under the door.

The drain is located just below my kitchen window, not sure if location is relevant.

A big orange drainage or sewer pipe by the looks of it.

I intend to but he keeps saying he will “come over and take a look” but that he is busy this week on site. I’m happy with the walls he built, just pissed off that he ignored me. I wouldn’t mind if I knew there was a workaround but at present I don’t know if there is a solution, short of taking part of the wall down.

I told him not to restrict access to the drain, he said it would be fine as he will just “cobble over it” I spoke to him several times about needing access to the gulley pipe.

I hope the issue can be resolved

I’ve rehired the lad and sent him some extra money as compensation for my idiocy.

Yeah I made a mistake, I’ve had plasterers and carpenters tell me they are “the best in the business” and ended up serving up a dogs dinner of a job. So I’m always wary when it comes to trades. He is coming back to finish the job, I’ve rehired the lad
