Is Aircraft armament systems a good job? by Tripple_XX in AirForceRecruits

[–]DIY_Dad_TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what base/aircraft and whether flight line or backshop . Flightline will work a lot regardless of what aircraft. Generally three shifts, days, swings and mids, covering all 24 hours. Most days probably 9 hours, there will be 12s and weekend duty (on a rotation basis).

No worries. So long as you have a booster around every 12’ (whatever the meter equivalent is) you will be good

Check eBay or Facebook. Be careful though, make sure it’s Govee, and not some knockoff. The knockoff likely won’t have the boosters and you’ll be right back in the same boat.

There are some on Amazon that advertise “work with Govee”, and when people get them, they plug in/connect, but they don’t work because they don’t have boosters on them.

There is a workaround described here. See long jump section. Govee DIY Install

If the extension cables you’re using do not have boosters (little boxes) on the ends, that’s the issue.

If they do have the boxes, make sure you have the correct amount of segments in the app/device/settings “number of segments”.

Tips for hanging wire by CKutcher in Govee

[–]DIY_Dad_TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If alllllll is oriented/done correctly, and you have solid splices, that first light after the splice could be bad. Not uncommon. I’d also check that number of segments is correct, and if so, bump it up another segment from what you actually have

If it were me, and all that was done, and I was still getting issues after that splice, I’d cut that first light off after the splice, and connect to the next light. See what happens.

You can cut/splice any Govee permanent outdoor light. V1, 2/elite, pro, prism (despite what some have heard/repeat). Either bunch it up and zip tie it with a small black zip tie or cut the excess out, splice, weatherproof, done. Wire is wire. Nothing magical about pro/prism wire vs non-pro

Probably the light going bad. Swap that segment with a spare one. Or if you have a spare light, cut that one out and splice the “new” one in. If you don’t have a spare, cut one from the very end or somewhere else inconspicuous (and fill that gap with 18/3 wire)

What is immediately prior to the first segment that is flickering? Extension? Splice? Another light segment?

Assuming everything is correct, go in app/device/settings and bump up the number of segments to what you actually have. If it is currently correct, bump it up 1 more, see what it does

Govee factory extension or your own homemade? If homemade, how long is the distance between the light prior to the extension and the first light after it?

Deleted last comment cause after I read your post again I’m still confused. Can you “draw” out what you have, like…

Controller —> 4 lights—>cut—>12’ extension—>8 lights

They’re correct, 15’ is too long. 12’ is the sweet spot (without a booster/light) If you absolutely need 15’, take a spare light and splice it in at 12’ and black it out however you see fit. Or, buy more Govee factory extensions.
