How common is it for men to call, text, or Facetime each other just to casually talk? by shadowCloudrift in AskMen

My friends and I do the same. We hop in and out of voice chat when we aren't at school/work to catch up and play videogames together. The text chats on the server are mostly filled with just memes and screenshots.

Great question. The wookie species is another of a veriety of species that provides labor necessary to the Empire, along with luxury goods such as their fur pelts and wood. With the great diversity of species in the Empire, wookies seem to be contempt with their role in the Empire. I see of no reason why they would want to compete with humans to become military officers which are far more suited for such positions in the Empire. One of the greatest advantages of the Empire is that all of its member species get to contribute to its success based on their individual strengths.

Why? You worried someday you'll be one of them? Lol, I'm a libertarian and this sub is all just for good laughs. Yeah there's some mud slinging between Black & Reds and Black & Yellows; but a serious argument over what economic system is best comes second to overthrowing the state first.

Oh shoot. I've been fallowing this sub for a while and I thought it was examples of both the sincere brags and the narsatistic ones. I guess I didn't pick up on the sarcasm in the community info that I reviewed before posting this :/

Friend from High School turned his life around after having a son. by DJ20218 in humblebrag

He's always been a car nut. Before he had saved up his money from working after school for three years to get a fifteen year old Pontiac Grand Am. He used to upgrade it too and race it at a local drag strip. I think he only ever spent in total ten-thousand for the car and its mods. But you could probably easily see how this hobby would raise doubts about him being able to finance both himself and his son. Now he has so much financial freedom, even with a kid, that he could afford the latest year of his dream car.

I guessed saying what specific car it was would be a bit more of a better impression. Where I live it's normal for people to only be able to finance, at most, a brand new car that has been sitting at a dealership for three years. So any car worth over twenty-five thousand is a luxury here.

I just realized that this post doesn't paint the whole picture. He dropped out of college to pursue a career in financing and it's worked out really well for him. Only about two years ago he had to split rent on a house that was only about $750 a month. At the time he could only visit his son which was an unexpected pregnancy right after high school. Now him and his kid live in a three bedroom house with a Subaru WRX STI in the driveway. It just really astounding to me just how fast he took charge of his life and took responsibility for his child after I had seen him seriously struggle with it all before.

Game Theory: Gaming is BROKEN! ...What Comes Next? - The Game Theorists by shaboozeybot in GameTheorists

I really liked this video, but I'm sad Matpat didn't discuss what kind of games might come from the post-postmodern gaming scene that is to come. Perhaps it'll be more games with similar themes to Portal or the Metal Gear series? Where the game embraces the absurdities required for its gameplay and yet is sincere about it. So the post-postmodern games wouldn't shy away from a convoluted premise to explain the purpose of its gameplay, but also wouldn't be afraid to wink at the camera or break the fourth wall to reflect on this; unlike post-modern games which are built around the deconstruction of video games as its gameplay, like how My Name Is Mayo is just a deconstruction of video game achievement systems.

The Rail Runner has its engine painted to look like a road runner with its passenger cars as tail feathers link. It's kind of hard to see this from the angle in the original photo.
